Mid amber coloured beer with a frothy but weak white head. A light malty aroma, a tad biscuity. Dry mouthfeel. A dry malty taste, with a hint of zesty hop flavour in the background.
Tasted at the Harbour Inn, Lyme Regis, Dorset.

Cask handpull at the Keystone, Guildford, Surrey. Deep golden colour with a small white head. Contrasting beer, which, after getting past the somewhat skunky aroma, tasted good. Bitter finish, somewhat ash feel to the texture. Soft carbonation.

Cask at Camp Bestival, Lulworth. Nice and dark brown alternative to the lager otherwise on offer at this festival. Smooth, moderately rich with mild fruits.

My Bottom Line:
Burnt sugar notes and French toast allusions surf fruity esters in this underhopped Bitter.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the translucent amber.
-Carbonation is very low, lower than the average cask I’ve had too.
-Hop character is nearly non existent, struggling to produce enough leafy bitterness in the finish.
-As a result, the flavour profile is sweetish and drinkability is reduced.
On cask at The Garrick’s Head, Bath.

Hazy dark amber with thin disappearing lacy head. Smells bitter sweet with caramel and malt with but with a clear bitter nut. Medium thin body. Tastes sweet at first of caramel, light fruits and malt with a soft bitter dry finish. Decent in balance but nothing too impressive. Easily forgettable.
