Brown 500ml bottle, best before End of Nov 2008, drank on a sunny afternoon in early Oct 2008 (in Shropshire). Poured into my favourite glass of the moment, a Westmalle Chalice one and half times. A slight haze to my Beautiful Daze, it was a dull orange peel colour with an off-white foaming head at first. The head soon fell away to a thin covering and collar. The aroma was light and airy, an English country garden type wiff of flowers, sweet peas and hops. I found the beer a bit thin and too carbonated for my liking. Dry and refreshing it was, but it had something missing for me. A session beer should still have something about it and this didnít. My first beer reviewed on this site from Otter, I hope they score better next time I come across one of their beers.

[500ml bottle, gift from Mum & Dad - cheers!] Pours very clear copper, swiftly diminishing off-white head. Malt and lemon aroma. Good, rich bready maltiness with some fruit in the background. Decent, well-balanced clean bitterness in finish. Alright, itís not complex, but itís a damn fine malty bitter, with a good depth of flavour considering the low ABV. Nice one!

50cl bottle bought in Hartney Whitney. Amber with a ring of white head; berry fruit aroma; chewy marmalade malt flavours; pleasant light bitter finish. A surprisingly full bodied bitter.

Bottle (22/10/10). Burnt caramel in the nose then berries in the early taste. Nice, satisfying, above average beer.

Bottle. Standard bottle bitter, bit of malt and a bitter finish. Quite one dimensional really.

A bit cloudy with a small white head. Fruity aroma with a taste of fruit and hops lightly malty. Doesn’t have much body. Has lacing on the glass.

A Sim rate (bottle from Waitrose): Malty aroma like a horlicks or maltesers. Sweet, yet pungent. Biscuits. Bread. Yeast. Not much to the flavour. Slight bitterness in the finish. Itís not as beautiful as Daze. And not nearly as sweet.

50 cL bottle@chris_oís place, thanks Chris. Pours deep orange to almost amber. Has a small off-white lacing head. Breadish and slight dark malty dry aroma. Flavour has the same breadish note together with a slight raisin note. Ends slight dry malty.
