3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Light pale gold, with a faint quick dissapearing head. Apple fruity with a light hop bitterness. Cider like with hops. Medium oily fizzy body. Sweet apple taste with peach and a light soft hop finish. Very nice and easy drinking. A nice session.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Brown 500ml bottle, best before end of May 2010, drank mid Dec 2009. Poured into my ’Old Speckled Hen’ pint vase shaped glass.
Made with ’lager malt’ and asked to be served cool, it was.
Looks every inch a lager more than a UK bitter. Deep pure white head (which produced some impressive lacing) sat on top of an almost bright golden body. Plenty of carbonisation, huge amounts of bubbles rising through the beer from start to finish.
Slight yeast aroma in the air, hay and grass too, not very British.
The taste is a mix between a lager and a UK bitter, not too sure I like it. Refreshing it is, but the dryness in the aftertaste takes away the enjoyment for me. A true hybrid, Fuggles hops are used, couldn’t detect them apart from the aforementioned dryness.
The beer lacks body in a big way, easy to drink but needs more substance.
Didn’t float my boat, but it is a pleasant enough drink I suppose. Perhaps I should have tried it in warmer weather, it is -1 outside at the moment and getting colder.

Cask conditioned handpump Taverners Godshill. A yellow blonde coloured beer with whitish bubbles and lace. Light lemony hops throughout. A bit yeasty. A decent character but not overly hopped. Pleasant enough.

50cl bottle bought in Hartney Whitney. Hazy straw with a white head that fades to a scummy appearance; citrus aroma with some musty grains; sweet grainy body with some citrus and honey; dry finish. Completely underwhelming.

Slightly cloudy straw in appearance. Grasses and straw and some vegetables in the scent. Carrots and hops and some light malts in the mouth. OK when you are used to it but rather odd.
