Courtesy of Degarth. Pours hazy copper with weak head. The first whiff of the aroma is inviting with a pulse of aged muted pine hops, some mild dark fruit, grains, malts and late in the draw mild vegetation. Hmm. The taste has an initial blunted spike of pine hops followed by blended sweet malts and lightly roasted malts. It ends with some hoppiness and an annoying level of soapiness.

Bottle (12oz). Shared with blankboy and tupalev, my bottle. Poured clear copper with a small white dimishing head. Aroma a blend of mild rich hops, light caramel malt, with a bit of burnt candy and fruit. Taste was initially harshly metallic, but the pleasant aspects of the aroma came out on warming. Mouthfeel was bitter and quite flat - overall definitely smells better than it tastes.

Bottle. Pours a honey copper body with an off white head. Sweet caramel malt, lightly wheaty with fruity esters, pine, soap and paper. This was all over the place.

Reddish hue with frothy white head and very good lace. Aroma is yeasty, woody, with light apple and caramel tones. The taste starts spicy and fruity with some smoky character undertone. Smooth but thin, lively mouthfeel. A nice solid brew, quaffable.

Cornfield (5276) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - NOV 29, 2005
Deep copper body with a rocky ecru head, this has a rich malt aroma, slightly nutty, and earthy hops - with a touch of the floral. The flavor is a light caramel malt with a Brazil nut bitterness to balance it out. The finish is abrupt, a slight smacking of hop bitterness, then it’s over. Decent enough.

Medium amber color. Small white foamy head. Aroma is fruity, nutty and sweet with a touch of spice. A medium bodied amber ale. Malts are caramel, sweet and a touch earthy. Hops are citrus and a touch floral. A little sweet, but not a bad amber. Nice dry finish. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry & tupalev -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a clear amber with a small diminishing white head. Nice aroma of caramel malt, brown sugar and hops. The flavour was quite surprising, there’s something odd in there and I’m at a loss to try and explain it. It did go away after the first few sips though and for the most part the flavour follows the aroma. This is definitely a unique beer and though I preferred the aroma to the taste I am glad I got to try it.

Very dark amber with thin, but gluey head. Sweet bread aroma. The flavor is very piney with a hint of a mediciney finish. Weak body.

Draught at Akkurat Black with a tan head. Fresh hoppy aroma with some notes of dishing liquid. Medium body with a light to medium bitterness. Fresh, hoppiness.

Body is a very dark amber with a alightly yellowish head. The aroma is rich and buttery with citrus and some bread crust. There is also a hint of maple. If I had just smelled this, I would have mistaken this for an IPA. The taste is bread with some light citrus. There is also a sweet finish of sugar.
