porterhouse (925), Alna, Maine, USA Jun 22, 2007 (Draft @ Bentley’s) Quite hoppy and fresh...Pours light coppery gold with about 1/2" of fairly foamy white head. Aroma is fruity and a little flowery, some breadiness. Mouthfeel a little light but not watery, slightly prickly. Nice fairly heavy rings of lacing. Flavor is quite fruity and fresh. Light floral tone. Yeasty and bready freshness. Medium-light bitter bite. Not bad. punkeedo (378), San Antonio, Texas, USA Nov 8, 2005 With a name like "Ballerina Ale," I was expecting this beer to be a let-down. To the contrary, this was a very enjoyable brew--one of the best in Beverly, MA, to be sure! It reminds of Killian’s Irish Red, with much more complexity. The aroma is of cinnamon and caramel, looks like Killian’s, and tastes like it smells. A very good brew with what feels like a 6.5+ ABV. Enjoy! hopscotch (4477), Vero Beach, Florida, USA May 5, 2005 Draft at Max’s in Baltimore under the name "Otter Creek Reserve". The ABV was listed at 6%... Beautiful, deep, crystal clear amber ale with a small, creamy, white head. Excellent retention. Malty, citrusy aroma with notes of dried flowers, lemon zest, English toffee and pineapple with a hint of juniper. The flavor is very well-balanced with a nice malt backbone. Lots of toffee and caramel followed closely behind by a heaping portion of citrusy, lightly bitter hops. Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. Lengthy, dry, grassy finish. Not usually much of an Otter Creek fan, but I like this one. Volgon (2458), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Jul 7, 2004 Light orange with a small white head. Malty aroma with a touch of hops. Medium bodied, ends without much fanfare. dirtymike (2019), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Jun 5, 2004 Light amber in color with a medium white head. Floral hop and toasted malt aroma.Upfront bitter flavor, fruity, and ends malty with a lingering hop bitterness.
