COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
India Pils Lager
Our spring seasonal offering brewed with 100 percent positive vibrations and single-hopped with Citra hops. The presence of the Citra hop is elevated by a clean fermenting lager yeast that allows the subtle Pilsner, Munich and Vienna malts to lay a crisp, bready foundation. The citrus and tropical fruit character of the Citra hop comes from kettle additions followed by a huge dose of ‘em again in the fermenter.

Golden straw colour, good sized head, lots of lace. Citrus and tropical fruit, grass in the aroma. Nice blast of hops up front, lemongrass, tropical fruit, a bit of dankness, biscuit, light sweetness. Body is spot on. Incredibly drinkable.

Bottle. Hazy gold with a tall, frothy white head. Lots of floral hops, citrus fruit, tropical fruit and soft malt in the nose. Taste is big floral hops, citrus, soft pine, tropical fruit, sweet malt, light caramel and soft toasted malt. Body is medium with a moderate, bubbly carbonation and lingering hop bitterness. Light resinous notes as well. Ends with more big floral hops, hop resins, light pine, tropical fruit, citrus oils, light caramel, toasted malt and sweet malt notes. Damn tasty!

The India Pale Lager fad is one that I very much enjoy. The citra hops are at the forefront of this brew and are awesome.

Draft at Railroad. Pours clear straw color with minimal head that leaves lacing. Nose is pears and other juicy fruits, pilsner malt. first sip is bready and full of biscuits, clean lager finish but it competes with the mild grapefruit from the citra hops. not bad.

I wasn’t sure what this was when poured. It is a clear light amber with a thin head. The aroma has some bread and Pilsner malts. The flavor has a hint of lemon grass, nice sweet malt and a bit of citrus. It has a dry peppery finish. This will be fantastic when the weather gets warm.

This looks great poured into a glass, slightly hazy white/yellow with a huge heap of white foam that sticks around a long time. Delicious aromas of citrus with some underlying dankness. Sweet citrus flavor dominates, with a tiny bit of onion and honey. There is a little bit of bready lager beneath it all. It leaves behind a lingering tangy bitterness with hints of citrus remaining. The beer is really smooth in the mouth and leaves behind just a tiny bit of stickiness. Really excellent overall, on par with Jack’s Abby but with a lower abv than many of their offerings.

Hazy golden color with a big, fluffy head. Looks like a lager, but not a crappy, fizzy pale lager. Fine specks of lace. The aroma is pure citrus: mild grapefruit, tangerine. The malts are crisp and light, almost lemony sweet. There is a hint of fresh pine needles. It actually smells really great. Taste fulfills the promise of the aroma: most sweet citrus. Grapefruit, pineapple, blood orange, nectarine. That pilsnery malt doesn’t really balance anything out but it does enhance the pungent tree-fruit flavors the beer already has. Feels "wet," medium-bodied, suits the style just fine. This is definitely a citrus-bomb. It’s not that complex, not that balanced, but it’s quite drinkable.

Bottle. Pours a translucent orange. White head with lace. Nice crisp grapefruit and sour grape aroma. Not As light as a pilsner but crisp and slightly sticky from the hops. Good grapefruit flavor up front. Little bitterness in the backend. Nice and tasty. Great after a run!

Keg, The Pony (UES), 19/02/14. Bright lager looks with a narrow white collar leaving lace specks. Slightly vegetal, fried chip, plantain aroma with lime shavings and barley squash. Dry and brittle with curry leaf, woodland notes, lingering popcorn-like pale English malt. Bitter afters more in English GA camp than lager. Expect more from any beer brewed with Citra. Just OK.

The real deal. 7.99 for a 6’er? This is an awesome beer for the money. Yes some of us really enjoy cat piss. New Zealand whites and Citra hops. Love it! Thanks for this as you did wrong by dropping Stovepipe
