dark yellow, thin head, good lace, light floral hop aroma, nice malt flavor followed by a lasting bitterness, a little bit of tart cardboard character, sigh

duff (5407), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Jun 2, 2004 Bottle. An altbier? this was somewhere in the realms of the Alaskan Amber. i.e, a pile of crap. Smelt quite nutty, but there was an overwhelming smell of pee. Stale nutty caramel flavours, really dissapointing. CaptainCougar (4664), Rockville, Maryland, USA Aug 5, 2003 Copper orange with a light tan thick head. Thin malty aroma. Body is reminiscent of an American standard micro. Bland, bitter and boring. hopdog (4649), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 12, 2004 Initial smell reminded me of a sweaty jock strap (not that I would know what one smells like). Plain and bland tasting. Their web site says this is their year ’round flagship brew - based on this one, I’m not looking forward to tasting any others by them. Could I have gotten a bad bottle or could it have been the Dogfish 90 minute IPA & Victory Storm King Imperial Stout I had before tasting this one - may have had an influence on taste, but could barely finish it.
