3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 boto (1665) - Granby, Connecticut, USA - MAY 26, 2012
22oz. bomber: This one pours a clear, orange hued amber color. There was a small off-white that doesn’t linger long but does leave some lacing. Hint of sweetness to the nose. Caramel, fruits on top, but there is a large amount of underlying hops. Some spices also. Good taste. Definitely a good hop bite to it. Mainly citrus and pine. A bit of sweetness peeking through in the finish. Lacking a bit of smoothness, however. It is good, but a touch on the harsh side with taste. Worth trying.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 BlackIPA (749) - Rochester, New York, USA - MAY 16, 2012
from notes: Middle of the road East Coast IPA. When poured in a glass looks similar to DFH 120. Cloudy. There is a lot going on in this beer. Alcohol is well hidden. People have written that there is a huge malt backbone, but I myself found only a medium amount of malts while being balanced slightly to the hoppy side. Tastes similar to Stone Ruination, but less hoppy and heavier on the alcohol. Average.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 IvoR (64) - New Jersey, USA - JAN 14, 2012
[Rated 08/20/2009] Bottle. Pours amber with medium-sized, white head. Aroma is of hops and citrus, but it’s not very developped. Flavor starts out sweet and then turns very hoppy -- more like earthy-hoppy rather than citrus-hoppy. But it’s very pleasant and smooth. But the best part is the very long finish that it leaves, it stays for minutes. Overall, a nice IPA. Doesn’t stand out, but is very pleasant and drinkable and deserves the rating.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 degbert (810) - Austin, Texas, USA - NOV 4, 2011
Bottle. Sweet and fruity on the nose, with herbal elements -- a little spearmint. Pours a dark gold with a cream-colored head and lace. Huge hoppy punch on the front of the mouth, but some sweetness on the middle; finishes clean and herbal. There’s that mint thing again. Quite good.
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 unclemattie (3735) - Georgia, USA - JUL 28, 2011

Pours a cloudy amber with a small lacing head. The aroma has a lot of caramel and malt and a little biscuit. The flavor starts malty sweet and is quickly taken over by the bitter hops. Quite nice dry finish, very refreshing. Biting and crisp.

Sample. Very bitter and kind of dark for an IPA. I mostly got hop bitterness and not much of the flavor. Not my favorite.
