COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A big, unfiltered American IPA built to accompany the big Eastern Winter. Just like an epic bluebird day follows a snow storm, a peppery build from the Rye-malt accompanies glorious hop notes of pine, citrus and fresh grass.

The bold Rye-malt backbone warms the soul, whether after a long day on the slopes with your buds, or just sitting in front of the fireplace at home.

At 60 IBUs, Kind Ryed uses a combination of Apollo, Simcoe, Chinook and Centennial hops to create a drinkable brew that wont wipe out your tastebuds. The new look bottle label and packaging artwork goes out-of- bounds and embraces the freeriding spirit of our Brewmaster, Mike Gerhart. Its his bus that adorns the label and his recipe that fills the bottles. Hop on the bus and take a Kind Ryed with us.

Bottle to a glass mug. Pours a cloudy yellow with a yellowish head. Great nose of citrus hops. Has a nice citrus hop flavor, not too overpowering. The rye adds an earthy flavor. Pretty good.

Bottle. Hazy golden color, fluffy white head. Aroma of raw rye bread dough. Taste is spiced grapefruit and Irish soda bread. Nice.

12oz bottle pours a hazy orange with lots of fluffy, lacing white head. Nose has a ton of juicy citrus, white grape too, orange juice, even a little fresh pineapple, guava too. Flavor has a balance of ripe fruits and mild citrus, guava, mango, pineapple, Asian pear, orange, mild pine. The rye hits with flicks of spiciness at the end. Dry finish. Another winner from Otter Creek.

12 oz bottle. (Shenandoah Hops) Staunton, VA.
Hazy mid-brown colour with a tiny white head. The aroma is delicious.... pine, grass and tropical fruits in a perfect harmony... Wow! Sounds a lot... and it is. The aroma is absolutely awesome. The flavour aint that bad either. A bit more hoppy bitterness and maltiness. An excellent IPA. Tasty. Thank you Brewmaster Mike! And the label is great too.

Bottle. Pours a hazy amber color with a small head that fades to a messy ring. Leaves some nice webbing. Tons of sediment but I think I poured the bottle too fast. Aroma is very citrusy with some rye and grass as well. Drinks smooth. Lots of rye malt adds a spiciness. Grapefruit and lemon citrus. Grassy and spicy finish. Sharp carbonation. Solid rye beer.

FROTHINGSLOSH (4971) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 27, 2014
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a murky dark orange-tan color with a large foamy orange-tan head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was tangy and sweet with notes of grapefruit, orange and a bit of pineapple. The flavor was bitter and tart with grapefruit, orange and lemon. Long finish. Medium body. Solid.

Cloudy pineapple yellow. Big creamy head. Heavy pine/cannabis aroma. Malt aroma is bready. Very pleasant. The flavor is very piney, oily as hell. All malts abandoned here. Still very good though, even though its crazily unbalanced. The feel is prickly, appropriately like pine needles. The flavors and aromas are no joke. Its kind of a one-trick pony but that pony can hustle around the track.

Bottle poured a hazy orange amber with a lingering ring of amber foam. Aromas of rye, dank bud, pine resin and grapefruit. Palate was light to medium bodied and crisp with a smooth dry finish. Flavors of rye, earthiness and light grapefruit with a smooth dry bitter lingering rye finish.

Poured from bottle. Cloudy copper color with thick creamy white head that sticks around for a while. Bready malt with grapefruit, sage, spicy yeastiness and pine . Oily mouthfeel. Biscuity malt and mineral start with citrus flavors followed with grassy and herbal notes and rye spiciness and finishing with pine bitterness. Nice amount of bitterness in finish.

Transfer from BA review on 11-11-13- Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance The beer pours a very hazy orange amber color with a one finger white head. The head has a good level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a great level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell The aroma is big of citrus and some malty smells. The citrus is mainly of a hoppy grapefruit smell, but contains notes of lemon and a bit of tangerine. The malty smells are mainly of a bready nature, but contain a little bit of rye as well. Along with these aromas are a bit of caramel and a hint of grass, overall producing a rather pleasant smell. Taste The taste begins with a good bready base. Upfront there is also a decent showing for rye and a bit of tangerine sweetness. As the taste advances the rye grows stronger in flavor with a grapefruit hoppiness growing more and more potent as the flavor advances. A bit of grassiness and some more grainy flavors join the now very rye, bready, and grapefruit flavor to leave a rather thick hoppy and citrus flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel The body of the beer is on the thicker and chewier side with a carbonation level that is rather average side. Both are quite nice for the mix of citrus, rye, and hop flavors of the brew making it a rather rich yet still easy drinking IPA. Overall A rather tasty rye, with a rather nice blend between citrus, rye, grass, bread, and sweet.. While not quite all it is chalked up to be it is very tasty and quite balanced.
