glkaiser (911), Seattle, Washington, USA Jun 19, 2008 Light copper with medium head. Lots of toasty malts in the aroma. Starts with the same toast, and has a sharpness that literally reminds me of chewing on leaves; in an OK way. Drinkable and fairly smooth, but finishes a bit of a mess.
noncaloric (48), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Sep 4, 2008 Bottle, pilsner glass. Aroma of sweet malts mixed with citrus and floral hops. Pale for a marzen, as yellow as it is orange. Scant off-white head dissipates, ongoing effervescence maintains a film of bubbles. Temporary, spotty lacing. Smooth, malty front, transitions towards grapefruit, floral finish. The marzen and pale ale elements don’t blend well, there’s an edge between them that’s a little metallic, and as the beer warms, the hops takes it over. afireinside96 (428), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 2, 2008 12oz bottle served in a lager glass. Very light amber topped by a minimal amount of foam that is gone before you realize it. Smells very sweet and syrupy, faintly of peaches. Definitely not brewed to style, taste is sweet and fruity, maybe red grapes and apple. Weird. joekinty (208), rockledge, Florida, USA Aug 31, 2008 Pours the color of autumn leaves nice sweet malty aroma eith a little hoppiness in the nose nice sweet smooth beer with a good balance but doesnt fit the style Nate (2239), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 30, 2008 From bottle. Nice sweet toffee-biscuit aroma, light caramel malt and neutral fruity character. Kinda buttery, too. Amber-orange clear with thin off-white foamy head. Soft watery body with medium carbonation. Starts sweet with biscuit and toffee, light caramel and some buttery character. Neutral fruity taste, too. Very little hops to speak of, though there is a bit of nutty-sweet bitter in the finish. A bit sweet perhaps, but easy drinking. Decent but a bit ho-hum. DrDavid (200), , Vermont, USA Aug 20, 2008 (Bottle). Rather mild malty aroma. Orange amber color; little or no head. Flavor very toasty malt, and a touch sweet. Pleasant, not outstanding.
