Flavor was earthy, mild pepper, mild bitterness. I thought this was a great example of an octoberfest beer and reminded me of Germany.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 16, 2009 Bottle. Pours clear copper with an average off-white head. Aromas of malts and caramels with mild yeast and nuts. Taste is a very smooth combination of sweet malts and caramels mixed with grain bitterness and hints of nuts and yeast. Overall tends to be mildly bitter. Not as spicy as other Oktoberfest beers, but in this case I believe that is a good thing as it also for the malts to come through. llcooldave (339), San Antonio, Texas, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 14, 2009 Weak medicinal gauze smell. Orange copper in color with a nice thick head. Mild malty taste with a definite piney hoppy aftertaste. Overall it’s average... nothing too exciting but it is drinkable. thirdeye11 (580), Texas, USA

Nose is corn, funky socks. Tastes the same, unsweet, burnt toast with a lager like biting finish. Odd aftertaste that isn’t great. AmEricanbrew (2021), Almost, Texas, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 22, 2009 Tap at Bukowski’s: Deep copper pour with good clarity and a tan film that laces a bit. Grainy breadcrust aroma- some nutty notes as well- fairly clean. Light body with a grainy flavor. Fairly clean with a husky character ad very mild bitterness (if any discernible hop character). Typical one dimensional American take on a German lager. Should be spicier. alobar (1056), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA
