Commercial Description:
Otter Creek World Tour -- Next Stop: Japan. Japan is famous for sake, wich is brewed with rice - the main staple in Japan. These days, however, the Japanese are drinking more beer than sake - although the brewers still use plenty of rice in their brews. Japanese tradition calls for special sakes and beers to be brewed in celebration of spring. Here's our version: a pale amber full-bodied ale brewed with pilsner malt, Hallertauer hops, rice (of course), authentic Koji and sake yeast. Kanpei!

Bottle. Light in color, body and head. Aroma unique, some hay, grain. Malty, uncoventioanl caramel sweetness, soft caky flavor with touchs of fruit, grapes I guess. I thought this was interesting and deserves a point or two for originality.

Courtesy of maniac. Pours a translucent dark straw with good off-white head. Nose of tannic white grapes and grits. Acidic flavor. Unusual, but not wholey unpleasant. Wouldn’t seek it out but would drink it again.

Tap @ Hop Devil. Poured a crystal clear gold color with a white head. Sweet toasted malt aroma with notes of biscuit. The flavor was lighter on the malt. Some sweetness and a fruity finish.

22 oz - Perfect Pour. Hazed orange, fizzy white head. Sweet rice and lychee aromas lay on hints of toasted caramel and white cake batter. Soft sweet fruity flavors ride waves of warm yeasty rice pudding from beginning to end. Light to medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying, semi-sweet finish. Going against the grain here, but I thought this was very unique and tasty. I’d gladly drink this again...

22oz bottle on 06/25/08. Somewhat hazy light golden body with a medium creamy off-white head. Sweet fruity aroma, some apples and somewhat cidery, with some bread and yeastiness. More cidery fruitiness, slight apple hints, and a bit more yeastiness. Medium body with moderate carbonation.
