3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: OCT 17, 2007 Bottle. pale amber beer with a slight cloudiness. Aroma is very fruity with lots of apple, pear and berry fruitiness. The smell is very reminiscent of Cooper’s sparkling, which I gather is the point. A bit of apricot. Light pale malt, soft minerally bitterness. Very fruity and lightly herbal.
Vermont Brewers Fest ’07. Pale golden beer, thin head. Very faint fruity aroma up front with a cherry/berry yeastiness. Lean pale malts. Low hop aroma and flavour. A bit straight-forward and really unlike anything I had in Australia. No Pride of Ringwood (which I’m definitely not complaining about).

Poured into a snifter. Otteroo pours a nice rich amber color, with a nice white head on top, that has a low retention rate which causes the halo effect and leads to very little lacing. Not a very flattering aroma, biscuity, some hay aromas, grapes, and it has a metallic ester as well. The taste isn’t bad for the style at all, and is better than the aromas. Unfortunately, that metallic taste is there. Definitely very biscuity. Flavor gets a lot better as the beer warms. Almost has a wine-like quality to it. Easy drinking mouthfeel, warms the mouth a little due to the higher alcohol. Mild carbonation. Not a bad beer by any means, but definitely not my style. I wouldn’t mind drinking this again.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Review from notes, sampled 3/13/2008
Pours a Beautiful crystal clear golden amber color with a fluffy white head that doesn’t stay around to long. Kinda looks like apple juice. Aroma is a bready malty kinda deal maybe a hint of caramel in there too. Taste is lackluster, kind of thin some malt, but feels watery with no body. Very easy drinker, but not one of my favorites.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Presentation: It was poured from a brown 1pt 6oz bottle into a pint glass. The label doesn’t list a freshness date or an abv% but there is a short description on the label.
Appearance: The body has a deep coppery reddish amber brown color with a thin white head on top. The head is thin and quickly fades to just a thin wispy covering. Lacing is minimal and slick.
Smell: The aroma is deep and sweet with heavy dark wheat bread and honey notes. Hop notes are much lighter and add a slight herbal presence.
Taste/Palate: Overall there is sweet, almost syrupy, malty bready character like a slice of dark multy grain wheat bread with butter and honey on it. Its body feels full with mellow carbonation and a smooth texture. The finish is sweet and bready/grainy.
Notes: The bottle describes this beer as being a sparkling ale with a bright and refreshing taste. I can find nothing like that in this beer. It is hazy, quite sweet and complicated. Overall it is an interesting beer but not one that fits neatly into any style.

Murky color not quite clear with a small white head fades fast. Aroma of some hops with belgian spice and yeast. Some sweetness. Taste is balanced and light with some candy and spice. Alcohol not really noticable, not that great.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Thanks Crushintor for sharing this bomber which was not finishable but interesting yeasty beer. Woodsy and Sourish yet not a brown, rising carbonation bubbles yet not overcarbonated. Boozy with medium mouthfeel, somewhat creamy, then drying aftertaste. Good off-white head and lacing though blondish coloured body.Unclassifiable, really.

Bottle: Pours a clear golden color with an off white head. Aroma is sweet with malt and butter oxidized. Taste is crazy sweet roasted malts with sugary fruit. Something is off between this sugary sweet mess.
