Nihon (239), Vernon, Connecticut, USA Dec 8, 2006 Solid APA, bit of a bite afterwards. Strong hops flavor, dry finish. Caramel color, with a thin head. Overall a decent brew. TURDFERGUSON (1594), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA Dec 6, 2006 Bottle. An easy drinking after work beer. Could down this little fella in a matter of seconds. Suprisingly rich hops to go a long with cool, crisp taste. Thanks Chris Black! sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA Dec 2, 2006 Bottle. Clear amber/orange color with minimal head. Aroma of caramel malt and citrusy, slightly spicy hops. Very clean smelling, no trailing yeast odors. Citrusy, hoppy flavor up front and on top of a light caramel malt base. Finishes fairly dry. Medium bodied. Not too bad. Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA Nov 10, 2006 Medium honey body with a medium ring of bubbles and a thin patch film of bubbles. Nose-perfuney, cereal, stale hops. Taste-medium bitter, light hops, crisp, corn flakes, straw, smooth hops, and slightly metallic. Tastes like an IPA with some pale ale notes thrown in as an afetr thought. Not a bad beer, but not one I would go out of my way to find. mansquito (819), Boston/Philadelphia, USA Nov 5, 2006 A pretty damn good pale ale. Very drinkable and pretty smooth for an pale ale. Not as much alcohol in this one as there are in other pale ales of this calibre(mostly IPAs though), but his certainly does not detract from the nice clean ’Cascade’ hop taste of this one (I am not sure what a Cascade hop is and why it is any different). michael-pollack (2603), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 28, 2006 12oz. Bottle: Aroma of a Pale Ale. Slight malt and hop presence. A little spice as well. Also smells like ciggarettes an dmud. Poured a hazy copper with a medium, half rocky, half creamy, off-white head that mostly lasted. Sparkling. Good lacing. Flavor of bittering hops and roast with a small hint of caramel malt. Moderatly bitter, but not sweet. QUOTING Muzzlehatch, "As VENOM said, this has some IPA characteristics, namely stronger hoppiness than usual in an American Pale Ale. Very smooth, just a tiny bit of bite at the end, but not a lot on the nose or middle taste." Well balanced. Medium body. Lively carbonation. Short bitter finish. Overall, and average APA with a good bitter bite. iowaherkeye (1832), Bakersfield, California, USA Sep 29, 2006 12oz Bottled on 04/18/06. Kinda old, let’s see how she does. The aroma is strong with Cascades, also there’s some sweet malts and caramel malts. There is also a light buttery quality. Nothing spectacular or out of the ordinary, so it doesn’t get a "7." Pours a clear copper orange with a small, fading off-white head. Favors seem a bit blunted, for some reason. The taste goes from moderate bitterness to mild sweetness, finishing on borderling sweet and the aftertaste’s aftertaste comes back with a lingering bitterness. The taste leads the aroma. Smooth mouthfeel, though a little thin. Soft carbonation. Not bad by any means, but nothing to make me remember it tomorrow, either. cazort (413), Newark, Delaware, USA Sep 9, 2006 Aroma very hoppy, very pleasant, fairly complex. Moderately bitter, some malt flavour. When you actually drink it, the hops aren’t as strong as the initial aroma suggests. I like this beer a lot, but it’s far from perfect; I actually think it’s too sweet. I would prefer it to be a bit more bitter too. And the malt is not complex enough.
