SDbruboy (1832), San Diego, California, USA Nov 12, 2004 Bottle from slob! Pours clear amber with a small white head that diminished quickly. Sweet, slightly fruity nose with a bit of vanilla and pine. Flavor is sweet mainly with a tart citrus finish. Light body and moderate carbonation. A decent little pale ale overall. hershiser2 (902), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Nov 10, 2004 Paid $1.20 for a 12-oz single. Light amber, with a golden tinge... small head. Lovely grapefuity hoppy aroma. Flavor is quite subdues and slightly metallic. With a nice aroma like this beer has, the flavor is awfully lacking. Kinda thin and watery in the mouth too. Not a bad beer overall... it’s inexpensive, so that works to its benefit. BBB63 (4198), La Porte, Indiana, USA Nov 4, 2004 Bottle: Clear amber hue with small but lasting head and very good lace. The aroma has notes of piney and grassy hops, dusty yeast esters, biscuit, pale malts, minor grapefruit and orange zest character. The taste starts sharply bitter and twangy, good citrus background. However the taste fades badly to almost nothing on the finish except for some metallic, chalky undertones and a hint of nuttiness. The feel is crisp and sharp initial but as noted turns metallic and boring. Starts great but sadly fails to deliver. Average at best. Darkover (1308), Columbus, Ohio, USA Oct 20, 2004 Light orange color with a medium beige head. Nice strong hop aroma. Flavor is pretty hoppy, but not really bitter. Really good, underrated IMO. beaconstreet (811), Washington DC, USA Oct 15, 2004 Newer label than the one displayed above. Hoppy and the hops remind you of their presence as you maintain your connection with the beer. Copper color. Could have sworn I tasted a bit of corn? The aroma is like Five Alive juice drink. Tasty overall. TerryR (382), Oswego, Illinois, USA Oct 8, 2004 Deep golden color. White head lingers for a while and leaves nice lacing. Great floral hop aroma. Medium bodied. Nice malt to balance. Very well made pale ale. shadey (1496), Rochester, New York, USA Oct 8, 2004 A nice hop aroma. Good hop character in the flavor. A nice all around pale ale. Good Stuff. ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA Oct 5, 2004 2004 draught @ Barfly in Rochester, NY. Pours a pale whiteish-yellow with some light copper tinges. Small white head. Aroma of tons of floral hops, light pale malt. Flavor is hoppy, but not hugely bitter, with a smattering of lightly sweet malt to round things out. As it warms, more honey/caramel tones appear, and the hops gain some citrus. The body, which was a solid medium, with very lively carbonation was perhaps the best part; it didnt die a watery death. Flavor seems pretty average, at least pretty fresh as well.
