Commercial Description:
A refreshing, golden amber brew, with Cascade hops from the Yakima Valley. Adding Cascades during conditioning captures the rich aroma of the hop, and completes the clean, well-balanced flavor of our American pale ale. Crisp, refreshing and exotically aromatic.

12 ounce bottle from Vintage Cellar in Blacksburg, VA. Pours a vibrant golden amber color with a medium head. Aroma is caramel and citrus hops. Taste is bitter citrus and resiny hops with malty caramel notes. Medium bodied.

This is hoppier than most pale ales - it’s almost in IPA territory. But that’s just fine by me. Cascade hops dominate the flavor while subtle caramel malt notes linger in the background. Very drinkable and enjoyable.

Pours golden amber with a light white head. The aromas here what I look for in a pale ale. Sweet and semi complex of hops and a little caramel. The flavor doesn’t quite live up to the aromas, but there is a good bitterness. Medium flavors of hops and a little piney. Needs more depth in the flavor. Not bad all around.

Style; glass: Pale ale; 12 fl oz x 4.6% ABV = 55.2 / 60 = .92 beers * 150 C = 138 calories (est.) Purchased at: Canal’s Lawrenceville, NJ for $1.20 Aroma: hay, corn, grains, faint Visuals: templated packaging. Body is bright, brilliant, and pale, staying white head, interesting lace. Taste: starts with corn and barley, grassy, middle is water, a little chemical, finish is slightly metallic. Palate: starts thin, middle rounds a bit in the mouth, quick drying effects towards the short slightly acetic finish. Overall: Not bad for the price, better than your average macro, but I would seek out something else next time, myself. originally posted at: <a href="http://beercritic.wordpress.com/">http://beercritic.wordpress.com/

Bottle. Pours a golden copper body with a white head. Lightly hopped with some earthiness, and citrus. A thin malt ballet and a cloying bitterness. eh.

bottle - Drank side by side with Michigan Brewing Co. Mackinac Pale Ale. This beer pours clear copper with a very thin head. It has a sharper hop aroma than the Mackinac. The flavor is moderately hopped with some good citrus notes. The malt is in there but rather light. It strikes me as a little thin and unbalanced. Overall it’s decent but on this head--to-head I’ve got to give the nod to the Mackinac.

Bottle. Clear copper with nice carbonation and good lacing. Nose is metallic with citrus hops underneath. Nice bitterness, assertive but reserved. Clean but one-dimensional. Bland citrus notes. Sharp carbonation but still somewhat easy drinking.

Bottle @ Ellicottville Beer Fest. Nice APA. Nice hop presence, balanced, very drinkable. Not terribly complex but a good APA
