COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Quercus Vitis Humulus is our brewer’s tribute to the mighty oak, luscious grape, and humble hop. Our homage begins with a bold 27 degree plato barley wine ale, warm fermented with Bohemian lager yeast which we then blended with French grape juice and fermented in a second time with pure culture of Champagne yeast. When our brewers thought this intricate brew was complete, they aged it on lightly toasted French Oak. The six week journey through our brewery results in a deeply complex ale. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed brewing it.

Aroma is quick and sweet. Pours a mutt led hazy brown...whiteer head than expected? Full bodies. Has a over ripe fruit quality. Sweet and a slight tartness. I like it even tho it’s not "normal" for a BW. Crisp. I enjoyed it.

A: The beer pours amber in color with a couple fingers of white head. S: The wine/grape aroma really stands out on this. It’s fairly sweet with some oak and vanilla notes coming through. Some citrus aromas as well as an almost Sauvignon blanc sort of scent. Also a hint of peaches. Really complex. T: The flavor, however, does not quite match up. The grape is still there, as is the oak. But there is a definite oxidation to the flavor. A bit of booze along with brown sugar, bread, and toffee to round things out. M: Medium in body with medium carbonation. O: The aroma on this was fantastic, unfortunately the flavor did not even come close.
