Bottle. Amber-orange color with a small white head, fairly good retention. Nose is lightly sweet, definitely the grapes, and a little musty. Sweetness again in the flavor, along with a little oak and a weird must/off flavor note. Moderate hopping. Itís alright and itís an interesting concept, but thereís definitely something off about this one.

On tap at Valhalla poured into a goblet. Yeasty and brightly carbonated. Approachable for 12%... didnít pick up on too much grape. The oak added a nice touch. A very fun and interesting beer.

Tap at Mugs. Pours a cloudy amber with a thin white head. Nose is a bit sweet a bit boozy. Big mouthful almost thick. Booze rules here. Some sweetness and big malts. Ends boozy. Not quite there yet.

Bottle from Statline, bought somewhat with hesitation, been mostly miss, rare hits with Otter creek 22ozers. This one may have been the best done Otter Creek ever? Not sure. Rated as a traditional style ale, not a Belgian Strong, although I was floored to read the ABV before getting ready to drive home. Holy Smokes, 12%!!!! The pour was full amber, some haze, decent head. The aroma was grapes, odd spices, some pilsner sulfury type aromas, yeast. The flavor was fruity, grapes, spices and odd floral or herbal things and poppy seeds (in a hommelbier sense almost), alcohol so well hidden for this level, faint heat at the end of the sip. Oak and tannins at the end of each sip, very faint vanilla, some styrofoam. Mouthfeel had a touch of acidity, smooth. Nice job, Otter Creek! Neat stuff.

Shared with Butters at maniacís b-day. Medium amber. Nose was an interesting blend of winey grape notes and Belgian yeast notes. Flavor was lightly of caramel malt, a really enjoyable clear grape presence, and some fruity Belgian yeast with a touch of spiciness. Hint of oak on the finish. Very interesting, and far and away the best beer Iíve ever had from Otter Creek. Good stuff.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Shared with kinz for maniacís 27th birthday. Pours a clear amber with fair offwhite head. Nose is very white grape with the oakey qualities from the barrel, and faint alcohol. Also has a wierd mustard/cheesy note. Flavor brings a huge sweetness. Resinous hop pervades the vinous flavor. more oak. great warming as it goes down, but not hot on the flavor. Surprising interesting and well done.

On tap at Birreria Paradiso 1/10/10: Pours a transparent dark copper amber with ruby hues and a spotty-lacing off-white head. Aroma of sweet toasty dark caramel and toffee with a good amount of light fruity complexity and doughy Belgian yeast. Starts with decent toasty caramel sweetness and a fair amount of light fruits and lots of warming alcohol in the finish. Decent attempt at the style, but could use more balance.
