Commercial Description:
We’re rolling out a new Imperial series with the first beer scheduled to release January ’09. These larger-than-life beers will be sold in 22 oz bottles and on draft. Brewed with more malts and more hops, these beers are big, bold, flavorful, and high-octane. The first in the series is a Russian Imperial Stout. The style was first brewed in England for the Russian Czar and it is the king of stouts. Plenty of big malt flavors- chocolate and roasted- and high alcohol with lower carbonation and mild hops. We brewed this beer with double the malts and four times the hops of regular stouts! Otter Creek Russian Imperial Stout clocks in around 10% ABV- a beer to be savored responsibly. True to style, this beer will last for years so you may want to stock up on a few bottles for your cellar while it’s available.

SourFest II. Black color with no head. Butterscotch aroma. Light bitter taste, mostly piney hops. More butterscotch and malt sweetness. Finishes with coffee.

Bottle Pours a deep black with a creamy tan head. The head last well and laces great. Has a good aroma of roasted chocolate, sweet fruits and alcohol. Has a good carbination and a zingy mouthfeel. Has a nice alcohol burn. The flavors are good and party on the tongue. Definetly has a good alchol bite. A heavy body and a real strong finish. Has a watery texture. Not as thick as I would expect. A good drinking stout with a kick butt attitude.

Bottle (660ml) shared with HogTownHarry, garthicus, GregClow, tupalev & jerc -- c/o HogTownHarry. Pours a very dark brown, almost black, with a small diminishing bubbly light-brown head. Aroma’s roasty along with coffee, cream, dark fruit and alcohol. Flavour’s also roasty with coffee along with hops, a hint of peat, bitter chocolate and some alcohol. Medium bodied. A nice surprise, this was very good, well done Otter Creek!

Sampled during Skyview Sourfest II in St Paul, MN and shared by Guerde. From a 22-oz bomber pours an opaque dark brown brew with a thick tan head that has some nice retention and lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate, toasted dark malt, molasses, some plums and coffee. Taste is full bodied, with flavors of chocolate, toasted dark malt, a hint of butterscotch, toffee and some roasted nuts. Finish is smooth, some alcohol presence with a toasted dark malt and chocolate aftertaste.

Bottle from dogfish120love, thanks! Holy crap this is a beautiful beer. Black with a great creamy brown head. Aroma is wonderful. Molasses, smooth roasted malt, chocolate, purnes and hints of a caramel frappuchino. Flavor is rich and full wtih an amazing body. Lots of chocolate, plums, molasses, coffee, and the roasted element in this beer is very mellow and melds amazingly well with the hops. This is underrated IMO. Wow.

Bomber in trade with somebody....? Been sitting in the fridge for a few months waiting..for an overcast cold dreary day off like this that I could enjoy the warmth from a Russian Impy stout. this one did not dissapoiint.. I half expected a big coffee fucker that would makle my face twist like the Red Poppy that was sitting next to this probably will. I must say that their use of brown sugar in this brew was expert. It is noticable from start to finish as a pleasant undertone. A fine, dense sticky lacing clings to the glass and slowly separates into thin quaff rings. Nose of sweetened coffee. Body is Medium + but ends thin, with a hint of tanginess. ....Willamette and Magnum hops????? Not in any noticable ammount. Easily drinkable and not overbearing. A nice one.;

Bottle in trade as a bonus from ROBORB. Thanks dude! Pours dark black with a medium lived tan head. Smell is roasty malt a touch of butterscotch, and creamy, nutty coffee. Taste is dry and roasty with nice bitter hoppiness and char flavor to it. Full body and soft to medium carbonation that is about ideal for the style. Nice dark chocolate, and suitably bitter flavor. Very solid RIS.

Solid black color, not much color. Thanks to gurde for the sample. Solid chocolate butterscotch (not diactlyle). Delicous toffe chocolate malt flavor.
