Elwood (268), Leesburg, Virginia, USA Jun 22, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours a crystal clear gold with a one inch, pillowy, white head. Light, fruity nose with a little bit of cracker, grain, and crisp hops. Lots of potential here. Medium carbonation with a light mouthfeel. Honey, light melon, and a bitterness that balances things well. Also a little floral note that reminds me of honeysuckle. Short finish. The taste was a little underwhelming and even a touch watery. Lacking in crispness. Could use a bit of dryness too. Not terrible by any means, just not the best Kolsch I’ve ever had. yobdoog (1021), Woodridge NY, New York, USA May 14, 2009 Draft. Light golden with a small fluffy head. Aroma and taste is very light and crisp. A hint of citrus on top of caramel and a lingering Pepe Le Pew taste. Drinkable but not great. GuilTTy (521), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA May 1, 2009 Bottle from Canals in Lawrenceville. Clear golden pour with a thin white head and very little lacing. Mildly malty and biscuity aroma. Touch of apple and citrus in an otherwise faintly malty flavor. Nice crisp texture and a clean finish. I wouldn’t seek this one out again but I would gladly accept one in lieu of a macro on a hot afternoon. michael-pollack (2192), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 4, 2009 Draught at Capone’s: Faint aroma of malts and grains. Poured gold/yellow in color with a medium-sized, creamy, white head that lasted throughout. Slightly hazy. Slightly sparkling. Excellent lacing. Flavor is slightly sweet. Tastes of pale malts, light grians, slight vegetables, and corn. Light to medium body. Lightly chalky texture. Average carbonation. Grain and pale malt finish. DrDavid (957), Johnson, Vermont, USA Feb 14, 2009 Bottle. Very mild grassy aroma. Clear light golden body, small head. Flavor is malty, earthy, with some interesting spiciness. Satisfying malty finish. Quite well done. esjaygee (1260), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Sep 19, 2008 Golden yellow with a thin white head. Aroma of grains, sweet malt and mild lemon. Taste of lemon, caramel and mostly malt. Crisp body with a dry finish. beerbill (1742), Laurel, New York, USA Sep 2, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Now that I am back from vacation, its time to raid my fridge. First beer out is this Spring Ale from Otter Creek. Pours a hazy dull gold with a thin linen white head that lasted through the first qiarter of the glass and left very little lace. Very, very light aroma of malt. The flavor is again very mild malt with some light hops at the finish. A very dull and boring beer. puboflyons (504), New Hampshire, USA Jul 31, 2008 From a 12 fl. oz. bottle, 2008 series. Pours golden-orange with little to no head. Slow carbonation but continual. Aroma of malts, grass, hops, and citrus. Decent mouth feel. It is a challenge to describe the taste. Defintely malts and light hops, but there is something else there like muffins. Dry finish. Despite my difficulty identifying the flavors, it really wasn’t too bad.
