nuplastikk (1159), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Mar 26, 2008 12oz bottle. Clear yellow-gold color. Sweet, fresh aroma. This beer is a really nice, straight-forward, low alcohol beer...pretty much sentencing it to low ratings on Ratebeer. I think this is an injustice, as this beer is pretty good. Fruity, sweet finish. Crisp hop balance. I wouldn’t say it completely captures a true Koln Kolsch, but it is a really nice beer.. rampmaster (314), Alden, New York, USA Aug 3, 2009 Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass. The bottle has a born on date of 2-5-09 and it was sampled on 6-3-09.
Appearance: The body has a light golden color with good clarity and some visible carbonation. On top sits a small bright white head that fades quickly, down to just a thin ring of slick lace.
Smell: Its aroma is clean and light. There are some light pale malt notes with some modest clean hope notes.
Taste/Mouth: The flavor starts with a light to medium body, crisp pale malts with maybe just a hint of fruit notes and mellow hops in prefect balance. The carbonation is soft yet active giving it a fun lively texture with a quick, crisp and dry finish.
Notes: The light crisp and fairly clean character makes this a nice average tasting summer drink.
Cletus (5001), Connecticut, USA Aug 2, 2009 Pours pale straw color with a large white head. Smells of grapes, some perfume, dry malt. Tastes floral and dry with some light malt presence on the finish. HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Oct 20, 2009 Bottle ( 12oz ). Slightly hazy pale gold, smallish fizzy white head. Pleasant fresh grain and clover aroma, a little bit of floral sweetness and dry earthiness. The taste is simpler - slightly sweet grain and some light dry floral/herbal bitterness - simple, no corn; tasty. Appropriately light-bodied, slightly chewy, light carbonation, nice dry slightly earthy grain finish - well done, Otter Creek! wickedpete (625), Lexington Park, Maryland, USA Apr 5, 2008 Thanks to Mike for this one. Clear yellow color. Sweet malt and grain aroma. Flavor is bitter and sweet. nearbeer (1833), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Jun 6, 2008 12 oz, bottled 1/15/08. Clear orange golden with a one-finger head that settles to a lasting ring. Grain, honey, slight lemongrass and cinnamon on the nose. Roasted corn, light caramel apple, and drying grassy-woody hop flavor are well-balanced. A hint of an earthy, roasted aftertaste appears near the end of the glass. Light-medium body is smooth, slightly tingly, dryish, and refreshing. LiebeBier (788), Annapolis, Maryland, USA Feb 23, 2008 Bottle - Clear golden color with a moderate white head. Aroma is sweet, slightly butterscotch, malty and grassy. I have really come to enjoy the simple complexity that Kolsch beers present. Malt body with the sweet flavors of the malted wheat coming through. I prefer my Kolsch a bit crisper, but did enjoy this and would buy it again. dlovell2 (136), Columbia, Maryland, USA Apr 3, 2008 Golden color with white head. Citrus aroma. Very crisp beer. Light Caramel malt taste followed by a light citrus hop taste. This beer was just ok.
