LiebeBier (736), RIchmond, Virginia, USA Feb 23, 2008 Bottle - Clear golden color with a moderate white head. Aroma is sweet, slightly butterscotch, malty and grassy. I have really come to enjoy the simple complexity that Kolsch beers present. Malt body with the sweet flavors of the malted wheat coming through. I prefer my Kolsch a bit crisper, but did enjoy this and would buy it again.
puboflyons (369), New Hampshire, USA Jul 31, 2008 From a 12 fl. oz. bottle, 2008 series. Pours golden-orange with little to no head. Slow carbonation but continual. Aroma of malts, grass, hops, and citrus. Decent mouth feel. It is a challenge to describe the taste. Defintely malts and light hops, but there is something else there like muffins. Dry finish. Despite my difficulty identifying the flavors, it really wasn’t too bad. Nuffield (2536), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Jul 30, 2008 Pretty average drinker. Yellow. Some bright fruit hints but generally plain grain profile. Light palate, with a curious finish, not exactly hops but something odd going on. Bottle in Maryland. Busted_Flat (401), Edina, Minnesota, USA Jul 29, 2008 Poured cloudy yellow. Aroma - Grain, lemon and citrus. Taste - light and grainy with some malt. Bready. Slightly bitter. Better than average.
darn1207 (227), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Jul 15, 2008 12oz bottle. pale gold pour with thin white head. interesting aroma of spice, caramel, grass and cereal. taste of bready malt and mild hops. also some honey. thin mouthfeel. doesn’t seem like kolsch to me. bennylava (55), California, USA Jul 3, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours pale yellow color with an abundant frothy white head. Most prominent note in the aroma is from the malt. Very tasty beer, light but not lacking flavor. Not as crisp as a pils and I would call the finish a little sweet, not dry.
