Aroma of some apple skins, along with some caramel. It’s sweet but not too saccharine/sweet. The look is a little watery, with some slushy lace but not a lot of head. Feels a little watery too. Flavor is also a little sweetness, with a little pucker to it. Quite an easy drinker, if a bit pedestrian.

This is a very underrated beer. Bocks don’t get much love around here. Rich malt aroma along with baked bread and caramel. Palate follows suit it is sweet with a nice ester profile. I really like this.

Pours a clear caramel amber color with a creamy white head. Aroma of fruit, caramel, and grain. Excellent lacing with a caramel, grain, and fruit flavor. Not a bad beer.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a smallish white head. Nose is very malt forward with a hint of caramel in there. Taste is similar, though some slight bit of toasting comes through at the end. Not too bad, but not great.

New Beer Distributors, NY 355ml ($2): Pours a light amber with barely any head. Aroma is bubblegum and nondescript dark fruits. Taste is slightly sweet, uncomplex, and light. Leaves some bockish aftertaste. Pretty uninteresting, and I don’t know that I would reach for this sooner than I would for a pale lager.

Bottle to glass shaker. Pours a hazy amber with sparse head, and good lacing. Pretty malty, and typical of a bock. Not bad. I should probably try one actually in the spring...

Enjoyable malty sweetness. This one was aged for about 6 months, so the hops were muted, but the maltiness of this beer was solid. Liked it.

FROTHINGSLOSH (3977) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 25, 2012
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy orange-copper color with a small foamy tan head that faded quickly and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was sweet caramel and light vegetal malts. The flavor was sour, tangy and vegetal with notes of caramel and dark fruits. Medium caramel and fruit finish. Moderately full bodied. Eh.

Pours a cloudy amber gold with one finger of sandy tan head. The aroma is vegetal and bready. with an herbal and musty hop character. God awful flavor. Tastes like cat food (dry cat food), stale bread, and astringent tea leaves. Can’t go on.

12 ounce bottle from State Line. Pours a slight hazy bronze color with a large frothy tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of toasted malts and faint hops. The taste is toasted malts, citrus hops. Medium bodied. Decent.
