Summertime requires a crisp, refreshing brew to beat the heat. If you canít be soaking up the lakeside sun or cannonballing into your favorite swimming hole, then pop the top on our Vermont Lager and enjoy the next best thing.

Our Green Mountain homage to the classic European-style lager, we used German Pilsen malt and, in true Vermont fashion, a whole lot of Noble hops to give off a big hop aroma that makes this summer seasonal a real head-turner.

Bright gold appearance with an average size white head and a fair amount of lacing. Grain field aroma dotted with citrusy hops. Bitter, dry, acidic taste modestly balanced by biscuit-like malts with a crisp, peppery, herbal aftertaste. Medium bodied, decently carbonated mouthfeel leads to a short lived finish.

Bottle at home in CT - picked up in VT. Pours crystal clear yellow with a foamy white head. Clean cereal on the nose with hints of corn, grass and lemon rind. Light-medium sweet flavor with biscuity malts, further cereal, some bitter hay and grass, faint lemon zest, crackers. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with nice balance, further crackers and biscuits, slight dry and grassy bitterness. Very drinkable lager,

A very bitter lager with a slightly sweet aftertaste. Hints of grapefruit and citrus zest. Not particularly malty for a lager. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Definitely more pilsner than lager, lots (too much?) of refreshing bitterness but I find it a bit too much for summer beer.

Pale muted orange. Creamy white head. Light lavender sweet honey and corn nose. Creamy mouthfeel. Bitter orange peel, sweet pie crust and astringent bitter finish. I still like it quite a bit. A less juicy humulus lager

Bottle. Light barley malt and herbal quinine aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Lightly sweet barley malt and mildly bitter herbal flavor. Okay.

They nailed the style, definitely tastes like a German Pils. Bit skunky, crisp malt bill, slight hoppiness. Itís alright, considering itís a lager.

Bottle: Pours slightly hazy, yellow-gold with a small white head. Lemon, grain aroma. Taste is grassy, pils, lightly bitter lemon malt. Pretty good...true to style.

12oz bottle, from Jungle Jimís in Fairfield. Date on the bottle reads 02/21/14. Hoping thatís not a best-by date (doesnít seem to be the case from the first impression). Mostly clear golden color. Good bigger white head, leaves good thicker lace. Medium-plus body. Smooth, kind of soft, crisp, lighter carbonation. Nice bready malt character to this. Good pilsnery light pepperiness. Hint of lemon. Tasty aroma on this, as well as a satisfying full body while still being exceptionally easy-drinking. Much better than expected so far. Nice sweet taste, and the perfect amount of light bitterness, with a great amount of light pepperiness in the finish.
