Commercial Description:
White Sail is a Belgian-style white beer, craft brewed with wheat, malted barley, hops, and a little bit of coriander and orange peel. It is mild yet flavorful, with fruity undertones and a haze from the yeast and wheat. This ale is delicious on its own, or with a slice of orange.

Bottle. Sweet spicy nose of more generic spice than specific coriander, but the yeast and orange peel come through strongly. Effervescent golden pour with a scant, quick-departed white head. Taste is spicy and grainy, crisp with a compressed wheat and orange profile and a slightly bready aftertaste. Touch of grain and earth. Medium body, a bit like made from chalky water. Hovers around average for a wit, thankfully doesn’t dip below.

Otter Creek White Sail is a lively, hazy hay-colored ale with a lot of large particles. The small white head vanishes quickly. The aroma is fresh and fruity, perhaps lemon, apple and pear. Grain and grass are in the nose. It is light-bodied, watery, and it leaves the mouth a little gritty. It tastes much like the aroma but there is a soft hop flavor that picks up near the end. The aftertaste is short and clean. The orange peel is present but I don’t taste the coriander. It’s a pretty clean-tasting witbier.

Bottle (12oz). Slightly hazy light amber, average white fizzy/foamy head. Pretty bland aroma - vaguely lemony and malty, slightly bitter, I guess that’s coriander spiciness. Taste - I get the orange peel all right, and light floral hops - a bit juicy. Light body, mildly acidic, weak carbonatgion, quick finish and just some mild acidity left on the tongue. Pretty bland.

Bottle. Clearish golden-orange body with a medium white creamy white head (due to vigorous agitation). Aroma is a bit spicy, orange, and biscuity cookies. Flavour is a bit watery and thin, kind of licorice-like with spicy and biscuity notes. The spiciness diminishes quickly within the wateriness though. It’s ok overall.

What a great summer beer! This is a staple for my house. Pours fairly clear with little head. Has a nice hoppy taste with no stale aftertaste.
