COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
White Sail is a Belgian-style white beer, craft brewed with wheat, malted barley, hops, and a little bit of coriander and orange peel. It is mild yet flavorful, with fruity undertones and a haze from the yeast and wheat. This ale is delicious on its own, or with a slice of orange.

muzzlehatch (4425) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - JUN 5, 2007
12 oz bottle from City Market in Burlington, VT (April 2007), a bit below cellar temperature and sampled from a Maudite glass. Just a touch hazy but pretty clear for the style, darker gold than most, with just a bit of head that dies quickly and very little lacing....faintly orangy-lemony nose, a bit like old soda, little if any spice (maybe a little ginger, if you try), weak....dull, watery, soda-like on the tongue, highly carbonated and fizzy, some mineralic content towards the finish, really no sour/tart wheaty character or spiciness, incredibly dull....hmm, I didn’t necessarily expect a lot, but this is below average even for this brewer.

VTHopHead (1389) - Barre, Vermont, USA - MAY 26, 2007
Bottle - Pured a hazy golden yellow in color with a medium white head. Aroma is somewhat characteristic of the style with some (little) coriander present and none of the orange peel that should be there. Flavor was even less impressive and pretty weak to boot... little of what you would expect of this style beer. Not really a good showing for a Wit...

Poured a light gold...more gold than I’d expect from a wit. Aorma of yeast and orange.Taste of coriander, lemon and citrus with a hint of yeast and spice in the background. Refreshing and dry

12oz bottle pours pale golden with a short white head. Good orange and corriander immediately from this one. Mostly those on the flavor but slight yeast and a little more dominant spice flavor. Good smooth palate. Easy to drink on the deck this summer.

Slightly spicy aroma. Coriander and orange with a smaller amount of yeast. Very cloudy pale yellow color with no head. Light wheat taste with a little spicy bite on the finish. Thick palate at the end.

Bottle. Just a little bit cloudy with a yellow and orange color and a white head with large bubbles. Nose is purely coriander spice, completely one-dimensional in that respect. Taste of light wheat, lightly spicy yeast, more coriander and anise. Overall a simple wit that doesn’t stand out, really it could be about a hundred other witbiers. Palate is a bit thin and watery. Tastes like a simple homebrew wit.

Bright, hazy, golden appearance with a small white head and modest lacing. Muted aroma, yeasty, some spicyness, with a light citrus touch. Taste is toasted wheat, coriander, pepper, lemongrass and a hint of orange. Tart, medium-to-light bodied, well carbonated mouthfeel leading to a crisp, dry, medium length finish. Paired well with some smoked salmon and goats milk cheese

I originally thought that this beer was going to taste just like their Wolaver’s Wit, but this seems to be a lighter interpretation. There is zero head and the nose is mild with a bit of coriander. Overall, it is quenching and a well made beer.
