Pours a pleasant murky medium orange with a thin, but clingy white head. Lemony aroma with some hints of yeast. Nice coriander accents in the flavor with some orange peel on the back end. Just enough spritz in the mouthfeel to keep it interesting. Better than expected. daknole (3032), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA

I smell and taste the orange and also some lemon too. The beer is a slightly cloudy light amber color with barely a head at all. Zilch on the lacing. It is refreshing, but it just doesnt taste like a true wit beer at all. Not enough body or yeast/malt in the character. Thin on the mouthfeel. This beer tastes pretty decent, it just doesnt compare to a true wit. DougShoemaker (2856), Toronto, Canada

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 18, 2008 Bottle. Hazy light orange-peach with giant frothy head. Fun, fruity aroma with peach, apricot, orange peel, coriander, and ginger. Very high carbonation is its weakest point by far. It’s fizzy but it does seem to work here. On the sweet side, but enough apricot and orange twang to balance it. Also, good spiciness and citrus zest in the finish. Reasonable amount of depth and complexity. Not bad, good refreshment. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Aug 27, 2007 The aroma is not quite like a true white but it’s got wheat, spice, and some citrus. The appearance is hazy orange/gold with some particles. The head is smaller but OK. The flavor is like the aroma with a touch of toastyness. The palate is typical for the style. Overall it’s pretty good but not great. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 7, 2007 07-Nov-07 (12-oz bottle: Obtained 03-Aug-07 in trade with Otter, thanks Jeremy!) For a Belgian-style witbier, this light-golden beer is remarkably clear. The frothy, white head forms a half-inch cap and carbonation bubbles rise slowly in dozens of streams, aiding in the head retention, which is pretty impressive. The beer smells wheaty, malty and somewhat sweet, and traditional spices aren’t making much of an impact in the nose, so this beer immediately makes me think it’s not a traditional interpretation of the style. On the palate, the wheat base is evident in the attack, but the beer is honeylike and almost caramely in its sweetness. Hops does add a bit of balance in the evolution, and the finishing notes of coriander and orange peel are subtle at best, but the sweetness is what really jumps out as the main impression of this unbalanced beer. The medium body is heavier than traditional Belgian whites too, so this beer isn’t all that refreshing on the palate. Carbonation is medium-strong. The head eventually fades to a wide ring, but impressive, doily-like lacing covers much of the glass. Overall, the beer is drinkable, but not all that enjoyable and with the emphasis on sweet maltiness, it’s very much out of balance and certainly not to style.
