2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Nothing very special here. Caramel predominates, but it has a certain crispness to it which was somewhat interesting. No head. Sometimes I find a real winner in these English ales, with their maltiness and their earthiness, they will present some underlying flavors, subtleties which make them memorable. This beer is not one of those.

Tea brown body accompanied by a tea-like nose. Mild flavored and bitter. Pretty straightforward and good.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a deep copper/brown, without much of a head. The aroma is very malty, with some citrus notes. Heavy, with a sweet malt and molasses flavor. A bit flat in the finish

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Rating # 800!! Nose of captain crunch crunchberries cereal, bisquick batter, dried fruit, and flowers. Pours slightly sparkling copper amber. The mostly lastng creamy off-white head is slight and mostly diminsishing, very light lace. The brew is very well balanced with light acidity, and a nice tempered dried fruit finish. The flavor is exceptional, and this would make a stellar session offering. The medium to full body is creamy and soft. The finish feels clean.

Maybe it turned. It was flat. Malty. No hops really evident. Boring. Maybe this would be better on cask. I did not enjoy this at all.

1.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Ruddy brown...tan head...the aroma stings my nostrils a bit...malty vinegar aroma...roasted cracker jack flavor...watery and unbalanced...finish is putrid, as if these brewers left the malts on the fire too long, try again

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This beer is spot on! It pours a dark ruddy/cloudy copper colour and has a finger and a half or so of head which disippates quickly. Fruity, Appley aroma...This beer is loaded with english Fuggles hops which marries nicely with caramelly, toffee flavored malts. I believe I can taste a hint of complex Maris Otter malts. This brewer knew what he was up to - this beer is extremely well balanced. Overall taste is wonderful in this medium bodied, low to moderately carbonated, smooth, creamy drinking beer. This beer would pair wonderfully with an array of fine foods - or just by itself

Cask. Clear copper with a good-sized head. Sweet citrus scent. Quite sweet in the mouth but also watery. Some carbonation. Very malty with mown grass and roasted nuts. Not bad.
