The purest spring water drawn from the River Otter is used to brew this traditional 19th Century-style IPA with a bit of a twist. Handcrafted with English floor malts and our very own yeast, we have added five of the US Pacific Northwest’s most citrus-flavored, aromatic whole cone hops to create a new, complex, highly drinkable beer.

(50cl bottle, thanks Peregrinari) Lightly hazed amber body with minimal off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, lime, light caramel. Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit, some caramel, orange, light dusky, lime. Light-medium body, light resin.

500ml bottle shared by Tom. Clear yellow/amber colored body. Sharp honey pine nose. Dry, crisp, oily, properly bitter, a bit too syrupy and sweet, but clean and sharp, which is nice. Some tea leaves and thyme (and even some celery/vegetal/fuel thing) tasted in the finish takes a bit away from what otherwise is a decent beer that I could enjoy drinking great quantities of.

50cL bottle, courtesy of peregrinari. Thanks, Tom! Pours a slightly hazy orange-amber color; thin white head with solid fine-bubbled lacing. Pleasant oranges and earthiness and caramel in the aroma; a pleasant hop bitterness and citrus zest. Medium mouthfeel: pleasant earthy hops and red fruits and biscuity notes; solid fruit and orange character at the core; tasty, balanced beer. Medium finish, showing oranges, earthiness, and sugar.

A bit sick in color with weak head. Nice aroma with alcohol and strong malt and caramel and mild orange. Flavor is sweet with alcohol and hops with a bit of yeast. Finish is slick with a bit of bitterness and caramel. This is a nice beer with robust flavor that I would definitely drink again.

Courtesy of Tom. Hazy amber body with a small white head, fading. Herbal and floral nose with biscuit and cracker. The flavor is lightly sweet, light to moderately bitter with caramel, herbs, light citrus and dough. Medium body is round with moderate carbonation.

subtle in complexity and anxious to please those of different appreciations i think it does an adequate job. overpriced ($3.99 @16.09 oz) and odd smelling at first this takes away from a good tasting and refreshing beer indeed! a good caramel and hop pairing that is refreshing watery, interestingly fruit punchy and finishes and lingers in moderately bitter and delayed sweetness. i think quite a good spring through fall offering. different...

UPDATED: APR 1, 2008 A solid English IPA; it was nice to have an IPA that wasn’t all about the hops (American). A bit weak though... Kind of one-dimensional. Smooth, malty taste.

Quenching bitterness from the forest floor! A bit of pine, but real deep earthiness. Toasted malt interplay, but this is really about the spicy, leathery, woody hop action. Totally drinkable, doesn’t go down like 6.8%. Yummy.

Bottle: Orange color, small head. Smelled like a decent amount of hops. Taste was watered down and the hops were there, but just not that great. Over all a little let down. If you are expecting a typical IPA taste you will be let down as well. Thanks robert for sharing.
