COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottled, filtered, Occasional;
The purest spring water drawn from the River Otter is used to brew this traditional 19th Century-style IPA with a bit of a twist. Handcrafted with English floor malts and our very own yeast, we have added five of the US Pacific Northwest’s most citrus-flavored, aromatic whole cone hops to create a new, complex, highly drinkable beer.

Pours a nice deep orange. Medium hop aroma. Taste was somewhat suprising as the hops are there but restrained. More of a caramel taste than the citrus hop taste prevalent in IPAs. One of the first English IPAs I have had and it wasn’t bad but I have grown used to the large hop taste of the American versions. Pretty good overall.

Nice amber color pour with a thick off-white head that lasts and laces nicely. Roasted caramel malt comes through in the aroma more than the floral and citrus hops. Flavor is a bit sweeter and less hoppy than I prefer in an IPA, but still is not bad. Medium bodied, with a slightly bitter finish. Good, but not great.

Pint bottle. Pours cloudy dark amber with a dense one finger creamy beige head that leaves really nice lacing. The nose is caramel malt, floral hops and light citrus. The taste is caramel, earthy hops and tart grapefruit at the tail end. Medium mouthfeel. Hoppier than most English IPAs I’ve had, but not enough for me. An ok IPA.
