The purest spring water drawn from the River Otter is used to brew this traditional 19th Century-style IPA with a bit of a twist. Handcrafted with English floor malts and our very own yeast, we have added five of the US Pacific Northwest’s most citrus-flavored, aromatic whole cone hops to create a new, complex, highly drinkable beer.

From the 1 pt. 0.9 fl. oz bottle with no expiration date or lot code markings available. The pour was amber with virtually no head to speak of. The aroma is hardly anything like most IPA"s with a strong scent of malts and barley but very little hops noted. The mouthfeel is about medium and nothing extraordinary. The taste is more like an ESB with dry hoppy finish.

Bottle. Aroma has more malt and mellow ipa aroma like those from across the pond. Amber body with off white head. Flavor didn’t have the crispness to it. Sweet malt more than the hoppy citrus. Somewhat watery and acidic. Alright on the palate. Maybe best if paried with food.

Sample at the Hopsnobbery Collective tasting on 12/10/08: Pours a cloudy amber with a minimal head. Dank aroma of tart fruit and hops. More malt than hop in the flavor and is also pretty tart. Not great.

Very malt forward, creamy caramel. Smooth caramel color, absent head. Still sweet, though astringent in the finish. Not my thing.

Pours a two finger cream head that fades slowly and leaves some lace. Cloudy amber color. Light carbonation and medium bodied. Hoppy nose. Flavor starts sweet but hops kick in near finish. Lingering bitter finish. $5.45 for a 500ml bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, Ma.

The aroma is happy and sweet with a caramel malt but it’s papery too. The appearance is amber with a small head. The flavor is bitter and sweet being somewhat disappointing. The palate is thin but well carbonated. Overall it’s not that bad but not great either.

pours a semi-hazy orange with no head to speak of. smell is floral, toffee, sweet malt, and a touch of citrus. taste is flat, hops, slight grapefruit, caramel, and malt, ends dry, flat, and slightly bitter.

Pour: Deep amber with white head. Hops and pine to the nose. Dont know if I had a bad beer or not, but it tasted like an old gym sock was thrown into the bottle. Couldn’t even finish it. Very unhappy with this one.

Not my favorite IPA. I usually don’t really enjoy English-style IPAs. This one is thin with little carbonation. A bit of fruitiness in flavor along with some hops.
