estoppel (1023), Buffalo, New York, USA Aug 1, 2008 Bottle. Very clear amber body, nice dense large white head with lasting lace, hops, yeast and malt in the nose. A lot of crystal in the malt, a fair amount of PNW in the hops, and an assertive yeast character make for an interesting beer.
glennmastrange (462), hobe sound, Florida, USA Nov 29, 2008 Bottle. Malt noes of lightly roasted grain, moderate amounts of flowers and herbs for the hops, a light musty smell for the yeast, and hints of grape, apple and wine. Head is small, bubbly, white with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is hazy copper. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic then finishes slightly sweet and moderately bitter. Palate is medium bodied, oily in texture and has a soft carbonation with a dry finish. A very fruity aroma with an excellent palate makes for a complex, yet easy drinking IPA. SuperDave70 (929), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA Nov 27, 2008 Nice amber color pour with a thick off-white head that lasts and laces nicely. Roasted caramel malt comes through in the aroma more than the floral and citrus hops. Flavor is a bit sweeter and less hoppy than I prefer in an IPA, but still is not bad. Medium bodied, with a slightly bitter finish. Good, but not great. bhensonb (3131), Woodland, California, USA Oct 24, 2008 Bottle from Sun Devil in Mesa, AZ. Amber color with a decent beige head. Aroma is more darkish roast malt than anything. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is roast malt with a lot of hoppiness. Really gets the sides of the tongue. More astringent than bitter. More floral than citrus. Very tasty thing. No question as to hop level - there’s some burn going on, and it isn’t alcohol. Very glad I am able to enjoy this. kimcgolf (675), Dacula, Georgia, USA Oct 13, 2008 Pours to a copper orange color with thick off-whiote head that lingers well into mid-glass and leaves good lacing. Nose is not the citrusy hops I’ve come to appreciate in IPA’s, but tended more toward an earthy malt scent. Motuhfeel was full bodied and a nice mix of tangy-sweet, and the flavor accented a little more of the citrus than did the nose.
Rounded to a nice, long finish. Not a bad beer. GreatLibations (1327), Sasquatcho, Arizona, USA Sep 25, 2008 Pours amber with a modest head yet keeping it’s hat on with a slight bit of lace around the edge. Aromas of sweet musty herbs. Medium full nectar with good carbonation creates and almost creamy sensation. This brew is round and fat, rich and creamy. Mildly sweet and moderately herbaceous this IPA is soft. I don’t really think they got what they were looking for. The astringency is the only U.S. trend going on here. The aroma doesn’t tell the story very well nor does the flavor. The finish is a bit bitter and unbalanced, very musty like aged Limburger cheese and old worn socks.
