Only in draft. Delicious rich apricot flavor... a little more than just a hint of apricot.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
I love Ottos micro brews, but this is one of their best. Lots of flavor and great aroma for an apricot beer. No awful aftertaste like some fruit wheats, and a good beer with any of their food items.

Amazing. Smells like apricot and actually tastes like it, too. Much better than Mag#9. Incredible stuff. Lots of flavor. Buy this brew.

8/18/07 - Draft. Nice golden color, good lacing on the head. Nice banance of apricot and beer. Malty notes w/ crisp hopiness. Good. One of the better fruit beers I’ve had.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draught at the brewpub. Pours gold with small white head. The aroma is weak apricot, light sugar, and maybe some crackers. The flavor is pretty intense candied apricot, followed by a dark bready yeast tone. It has a sweet, lemony sort of aftertaste with some carbonic twang. Meh.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the brewpub. Aroma gives a musk of coconut body lotion, tinted with fruit flesh and some lip gloss. Edging artificial, but staying clean and leaving the ugly confrontation between malt and fruit behind for a more subtle expression of fruit sugars. Pours a rich straw, headed with a white crisp edge. Flavor is full and moves into a different range, with reduced apricot candy, lots of plum and peach, in juice form, balanced with honey and malt sugar. Again, edging artificial but staying clean and not get skunky or off, which I guess is the unintentional goal of most fruit beers. Coconut meat pops up as do higher florals in the orchid and hibiscus range. Finishes out a little wet and palate lies slightly sticky, but there’s a curbing edge of puckering sourness that gives it a more clean snap at the end, lending nice drinkability. Fresh, bright, clean, alive and friendly. All I can ask for in a brewpub’s perfunctory fruit offering, I suppose.

clear dark gold, scant head,
light fruity aroma,
sweet fruity flavor, a bit of raspy wheat character, some good rich malt brings depth and keeps it from being too much of a fruit wheat beer

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at the brewpub on 5/16/07: Pours a transparent effervescent dark golden bronze with a nicely-lacing white head. Aroma of sweet, fruity apricots with a hint of tartness and wheat. Body starts somewhat fizzy and fructose sweet drying out slightly with some earthy, grainy wheat and a touch of citrusy. Decently balanced and drinkable.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at brewpub. Pours a pale gold with some orange hues. Nice bold apricot aroma with a some pale wheat malts in the background. Flavor of apricot that is not overdone, with an adequate amount of hops to balance it out. Lots of residual sweetness. I did not find the transitions on the palate to be very smooth. Still enjoyable though.

2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Ubiquitous pale yellow american lager color. Barely any apricot aroma, but what I do smell is a little fruity. This is clear for a wheat, I was expecting at least some haze. Has a slight wheat taste but there is an absence of apricot in the flavor. I do detect some hay like qualities. Even with the absence of apricot flavors, this beer is friendly and likable. Good creamy carbonation. Not sweet but there definitely is some fruit in there, I just can’t identify it as apricots. Overall, not bad, enjoyable and friendly. Probably one of the better fruit beers out there simply because you cannot taste much fruit, if any, in this brew. Very little, if any, bitterness on the finish or during the session. Does not really come across like a fruit beer, it is more like a good well mannered pale yellow american lager.
