tap @ Otto’s - very dark pour with nice foamy beige head. Arouma is toasted espresso, soft velvety mouthfeel and chocolately. finishes with some astringency and slightly vegetal. Overall decent: the arouma and mouthfeel saves this beer.

Draft. Poured a cloudy grey with balck body and big head. Slightly sweet malty taste with a dry hoppy aftertaste. Smooth.

Pours a beautiful dark opaque black with a creamy nitro head. Nose is malty, roasty and chocolate, Taste is chocolate and a bit light. Finish is dry without any carbonation. Quaff Scote 7 / 10

Tasty and rich stout, but pretty smooth and drinkable. Basically like many of their beers - really solid, but nothing spectacular. Good.

8/18/07 - Sampler at the pub. Dark black color. Brown head. Good retention and lacing. Bit of coffee on the nose. Tastes of coffe and brown sugar with a rather strong hop finish. I’m a fan.

On draft at Zeno’s, Penn State. Pours jet black with creamy khaki head. A bit watery; lacking the body that would really make this beer top-notch. Still a very nice dry stout.

Draft at the ’skellar - Poured very dark with a thick tan head. Had a sweet, malty, coffe aroma. I’m not sure if the lines were tainted, but this had a slight cherry cough syrup flavor that was hard to get past. Nitrogen made it very creamy.Higher ratings woithout the syrup flavor.

sample at brewpub: dark black with tan and white head. dark malt and coffee aroma. creamy head, tabacco and coffee flavor. Lots of tabacco blah. definite draw back. not a bad mouthfeel. could be fuller. Tabacco finish with tabacco oder. I’m not smoking. (was sitting in non-smoking section too

Brewed in the USA.... On that at the Brewery !! Pours black in color with a monster beige head that really last. Aroma of smoke, roasted malts and chocolate. Taste is much of the same with some mild tobacco flavors. Mouthfeel is smooth at first but then becomes kind of chalky at the finish.

On tap at brewpub. Black with very thick tan head. Aroma is faint roastiness. Very creamy mouthfeel. Flavor is roasted malts. Solid but not great stout.
