3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A nice, highly hopped double IPA. Appearance/palate thin for a double IPA. Alcohol presence is a bit over-the-top, but it is a double IPA, so what do I expect? There are other IPA competitors out there who can top this for flavor, but if I had it on a deserted island I would not turn away from the Double D (or maybe 2 for balance).

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Citrus, hops, and grapefruit aroma. Taste is the same as the aroma. Has a tangy and bitter taste. Has an orange amber colour. Decent IPA but Iíve had better.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz bottle poured a hazy orange with a tight white head. Aromas of zesty citrus hops with some light floral backing, sweet malt and light dough. Flavor is initially fairly bitter and hoppy but that almost immediately yields to a very strong sugary sweetness with faint caramel malt background. The back end of the flavor is all citrus and candied fruit with some moderate alcohol warmth.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tulip glass from bottle.
Pours an amber red color with a fluffy white head. Floral and citrus in the nose, with ruby grapefruit, tangerine, and navel orange on the tongue. Red honey, sweet and tasty in the finish.

For a double IPA, I wasnít too thrilled with the seeminly lack of complexity with this one. It had a good hop profile and a nice bitiness too the ABV; however there was a lack of malt backbone that other Doubles exhibit.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz bottle poured into a Russian River tulip.
AROMA: Bready malt, faint hops and alcohol.
APPEARANCE: Hazy copper color with some off white head the dissipates into a ring round the glass and bit of skim.
TASTE: Sweet malty taste at first, then hop bitterness, finishes with malt and hop balance. This is really balanced!
PALATE: Medium bodied with creamy texture. Average carbonation.
OVERALL: I acquired this as an extra in a trade. Quite a treat! If you like balanced double IPAs, this would be a good one to try.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Overall my favorite offering from this awesome brewery in terms of being a "go to" beer. Of course, it should be drank really fresh, that’s not a problem as I have it on tap about once a week! Fresh bouquet of west-coast hops, kind of cloudy appearance. orange, amarillo, pine. Ahhhh. A little strong, not boozy. Just a great IPA.

Now where did I put that Christmas tree car air freshener? Oh here it is, in my beer glass. Yum. But seriously. Intense hops, some fruit. Not bad once you get use to the intensity of it all. Donít forget to wear your seatbelt!

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Marijuana all over this one. In the aroma and it tasted like I had a super skunky nugget in my mouth. More over, the pine and resin is what dominated the aroma, giving it that herbal quality. Taste was piney, with also lots of citrus and bitterness as well.

Excellent IPA by Ottoís. Since Iím a Hop Head, this was right up my alley. Beautiful color and flavor. Strong shot of alcohol involved here. Donít drink this and drive.
