3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Otto’s on our way to RBSG. Pours a ruby hued orange gold with a medium sized white to beige head. Big citrus and pine, hop candy, and caramel. Huge juicy earthy hops, dripping and pungent. Smooth warming alcohol. Slow soft grapefruit. A little boozy, but very tasty. Big slow grapefruit and quinine on the finish.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle:   Orangish in color, very vibrant, moderate foamy off-white head, somewhat sticky lacing.   Sweet citrusy nose, hops are strong, a little floral.   Smooth citrus based flavors, a bit of rind but its not astringent.
Hops are present, but not biting.   A little bit of floral as well.   This is quite robust, but as a IIPA not as malty as I would have liked.   Still, as an IPA this one is really really good.   Good nose, flavor,
without being overly bitter or astringent.   Even has a bit more sweetness than most.   I’d call it a 1˝ IPA tho, and a good one at that.   Moderate to full body and mouthfeel.   Could stand to be a bit thicker/maltier
for an IIPA, but its a big IPA otherwise.   Clean finish, lingering citrus rind, somewhat sweetened, and a good does of hops.   This was really tasty stuff.   Many many thanks Jason for the bottles!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle (22oz) shared with and courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a cloudy orange-copper with an average size diminishing frothy white head. Big hop and malt aroma with lots of citrus hops and bready caramel malt along with some spices -- quite nice. Flavour of big citrusy hops, quite bitter, with just enough malt backing it up along with a bit of spice, some alcohol and fruit. Long bitter finish. Medium to full bodied, sticky mouthfeel. Very good stuff, I’d love to have it again.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber bottle and served in my GI IPA tulip: A brilliant ruby and copper hue topped by a fading but lasting frothy head and good lace. The aroma has notes of grapefruit, clove and resiny hop vapours along with some caramel and bready malts. The taste starts with acidic fruit overtones of grapefruit and orange zest before heading off towards a mostly balanced malt base. There is a good amount of hop spice and herbs on the finish along with a dash of medicinal flavor. The mouth feel is sticky and medium to full-bodied with a dry astringent finish. A solid example of the style but hardly an enamel scrapper.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle (22oz). Shared with blankboy, my bottle via trade with sirpsycho. Lovely thick and cloudy deep orange pour, average beige lasting sticky/creamy head - good lace (4+). Balanced aroma - thick sweetish malt, plenty of acidic resin hop bitterness, a dry wheat/grain overlay - and some alcohol (not much). Taste - initially very malty, not too sweet but thick, then the strong resin/citrus hop bitterness kicks in and pitches a tent, and the alcohol shows up soon after to cadge a smoke and tell tall tales. Thick bodied, quite acidic, heavy malt backbone but the hop bitterness outlasts it in the fairly long finish - but for all that incredibly drinkable - reminded me of Arrogant Bastard, but way smoother, and a bit less malty.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
In short: An intense IIPA but unfortunately a bit shy on the malt front. For the hophead only.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Clear golden body with a small off-white head
In long: Shy nose but very tasty, a recurrent theme at this brepub. Crisp sweetness half-honey half-caramel. Lots (and I mean lots) of hop bitterness. Pine needles juice up front with orange peels and grapefruit. Hard to take a big sip without making a face, this is a very bitter beer. I like when IIPAs push but with such an intense hops bill this one would have benefited from a thicker malt profile to bring some kind of balance and provide a place for the alcohol to hide (which was very apparent even at only 8.2%). Overall it is a pretty decent beer but somewhat overrated. But that’s American, everybody likes a Double Ds over in America. Not me, I’m pretty happy with a just a B. Hi Ruxandra!

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Thanks to thirdeye11 for sharing this bottle.
Pours slightly cloudy orange/yellow with a minimal white head. The aroma is very hoppy, with lots of citrus and orange notes as well as some piney resin. The flavor is lots of pine, but not too much bitterness. Very drinkable, medium mouthfeel.
