Nate (2256), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 27, 2003 Awesome grapefruit aroma, astringent and tart. Hop oils. Glorious. Medium amber clear with small off-white foamy head. Medium carb and medium watery body. Silky. Great big bitter taste, hoppy and crisp. Grapefruit, and not very sweet. Big bitter finish and persistant after. A very good strong ale.
Hophead22 (265), Redlands, California, USA Oct 12, 2008 22oz bottle, via trade with ogglethorp, big thanks Brian. Dark hazy yellow/orange color, white head with good lacing. Piney aroma, although a little muted. Nice bitterness, although the malt is pretty prominent as well. Very tasty. CapnJazz (14), Boalsburg, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 6, 2008 Overall my favorite offering from this awesome brewery in terms of being a "go to" beer. Of course, it should be drank really fresh, that’s not a problem as I have it on tap about once a week! Fresh bouquet of west-coast hops, kind of cloudy appearance. orange, amarillo, pine. Ahhhh. A little strong, not boozy. Just a great IPA. michael-pollack (1488), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 30, 2008 22oz. Bottle: Pungent hop aroma. Smells of citrus, grapefruit, pine, caramel, resin, and a hint of toasting. Poured amber in color with a medium-sized, dense, creamy, rocky, off-white head that lasted throughout. Hazy. Slightly sparkling. Very good lacing. Flavor is light to medium sweet and light to medium bitter. Tastes of hops, caramel, fruit, pine, resin, grapefruit, and a hint of wood. Medium to full body. Sticky texture. Sweet, then bitter, piney, resinous finish. tomthompson89 (1148), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 12, 2008 nose is big pine hops and resin, golden amber color not a ton of head.good malt with again pine hops good mouthfeel, wow what a great DIPA! Sammy (3140), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 8, 2008 Picked up at the brewpub meself. The silly cartoon now makes sense, it’s big on malt and on hops. Cloudy with an off-white bubbly head. CItrus aroma, and the dot loace. Big mouthfeel: big bitterness and big maltiness. Above average mouthfeel. Big and bold, hits the mark.
