TheCheeseMan (514), Saint Cloud, Florida, USA Nov 14, 2007 Poured a reddish-chestnut brown. Aroma is very sweet, at least to these nostrils. Candi sugar, almond extract or marzipan, some banana, all seem to be fighting for dominance, with no one clear winner. The alcohol is present as well. Flavor is cloyingly sweet. The lack of carbonation is really hindering my enjoyment.
JAXSON (109), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 4, 2008 On tap at the brewpup. Clearly this is not a quad. It seems to be a belgian trippel if anything, much in the line of many De Dolle offerings but without the wonderful yeasty qualities. I got alot of candi sugar and some lighter fruits. A bit too sweet, and a bit too thin as well. MikeF (523), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Dec 22, 2007 brown/amber. little head. sweet aroma. Very rich, yet balanced flavor of caramel, yeast, sight spice. A great super full bodied belgian. dpjuart (572), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 27, 2007 11/3/07 - Draft at brewpub. Orange ambe color. Nose is minimal, spice and malt. Touch of giniger and coriander, orange peel. Nice belgium. Again, ordinary for me, but good. DocLock (4170), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 26, 2007 Draft. Brownish pour with minimal head. Complex aroma of candi sugary malt, figgy fruits, hops, some floral spices, and spicy molasses. Tastes dark fruity, with citric hops, some funky notes, and some candi sugary molasses hints. Not bad at all. Odeed (1491), Bakersfield, California, USA Nov 20, 2007 (hand bottled sample)bronze body with no head.aroma is a mix of butterscotch, alcohol, and citrus.flavor is about the same with a slight tobacco finish.
