Ottos Jolly Roger Imperial Stout

Bottle @ the RBESG08 Grand Tasting.
Pours deep black with a small, creamy, brown head. Aroma is smokey, coffee and roasted malts. Okay mouthfeel. Flavour is initially soft, sweet cold coffee and light chocolate. Then a barrage of smoke hits me (and not in a good way). Too unbalanced.

RBESG08 grand tasting. Very dark brown colour. Too soy sauce and not enough character for me.

Bottled(1 pint). -RBESG2008, Grand Tasting.
Nice label without ABV written on. Almost black coloured, medium sized brown head, light smoked nose. Roasted malt, strong chocolate and coffee taste with notes of almonds and spices. Very smooth.

Bottled. Very deep brownish amber colour, close to black, with mediumsized brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, some slight hoppyness, vanilla and oak. Flavour is roasted malts, syrup, nectar, wood, mild tar and also some slight vanilla.

RBESG08 grand tasting<br Arr and stuff. Brown, almost black body. Tan head. Malty nose, not (word missing). Malty taste, somewhat roasty, ok but understated. Pales in comparison with the Kaggen I’ve had before it.

Black color, brown head. Sweet chocolate and raissin scent. Sweet chocolate taste. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bitterness.

Bottle at the RBESG08 Grand tasting. Alround rating: Everythign i dont want in a beer, big roasty, alcohol, sweet, roasted coffee, massive unbalanced mess of a thing.

Sampled at the RBESG08 grand tasting. Black with a small brown head. Strong chocolate aroma initially, followed by notes of tar and coffee. Medium bodied and silky smooth. Nicely balanced, dry finish.
