Commercial Description:
Jolly Roger himself smoked the malt for this Imperial Stout. This is a massive stout with a huge roasted maltiness and complex smoky, chocolate flavors coming through strong thanks to the gentle handpump and correct cellar temperature.

Pours black with an off-white head. Sweet with aromas of chocolate, caramel, prunes and alcohol. Full boodied with a slightly sticky mouthfeel. Medium to low carbonation.

Thanks to Mike for this one. Black bodied, ring of tan bubbles. Sweet chocolate and dark fruit aromas. Dark fruit, smoke and candy flavors. I love the roasted smoke in this imperial stout.

Thanks pepsican. Real nice looking. Smell is almost absent, but some chocolate and cream. Body is the best part of this beer, very thick, creamy. Not a very aggressive taste either. Chocolate, marshmallow, cream, hops, roasty. Very nice beer.

black pour with a creamy tan head. Faint chocolate and hop aroma. Flavor had a nice hoppy kick with some chocolate, caramel, smoke, booze, and just a bit of cherry. Finished very creamy.

Pours a flat brown with little head. Sweet chocolatey aroma. Flavor is rich, sweet and roasty with moderate alcohol. Pretty good.

Bottle, courtesy tronraner. Pours black with brownish highlights. Tons of lacing, giant foamy head. Chocolate is assertive in the nose, with caramel wrapped in booziness. Thick malt is inviting. Flavor has thick caramel, with a chocolate background. Booziness in the finish, and some cotton candy. Hoppy finish balances the overall feel, and quite drinkable as a sipping RIS.

20070303 Growler? Big and black. Juicy, chewy, smoky dark chocolate. Resinous, bright, and very bitter stuff. In fact, it’s a bit harsh but that’s just lovely and yummy.

Bottle sampled with Mad_Indian. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of dark fruit, black malt, chocolate, and coffee. The flavor is sweet, chocolate, roasted malts, with a fair amount of hops in the finish. Good mouthfeel, hides alcohol weel. Exceptional brew.
