Commercial Description:
Jolly Roger himself smoked the malt for this Imperial Stout. This is a massive stout with a huge roasted maltiness and complex smoky, chocolate flavors coming through strong thanks to the gentle handpump and correct cellar temperature.

Enjoyed at the brewpup on nitro. The nitro is an interesting idea for this beer, it results in a really delightfully soft, bubbly mouthfeel, but cuts down too much on the carbonation, which loses a point for it in my book. The flavors are pretty big but mellowed out, roasty, chocolate, vanilla, some anise and spices. Very good.

Solid. Elements of sweetness, roast and bitterness melding along with coffee glide along a rich body. Gliding along a rich body is something I enjoy, whether it be my gf, Lumpy or a well made stout. Shared a bottle mj sent w/ friends at tasting and then Doclock sent me another that I greedily drank alone. MMmmm - sure was good.

best if enjoyed onsite (drawn & drank?) The head was thick and creamy, mouthfeel soft and smoooth (not enough o’s in smooth) the taste was big with a distinct dark roast and an excellent finish. Just took in a 22 oz take home and it’s fine, but the one from the brewpub was even better. This Imperial Stout was worth my trip to State College from Selinsgrove. Happy New Year!

Bottle shared by Styles. Deep opaque brown-black body, thin, tight, persistent cream head. Aroma of licorice and roasted malts, burnt sugars, and a touch of coffee. Plummy, bready body, with chocolate and grape, finishing with charred, bitter roasted malts. Warming alcohol notes too. Silky smooth and very nice, but the finish is too bitter.

Another thanks goes out to the STL crew for this one. Pours dark brown with a patchy tan head. The aroma has lots of dark, but creamy, chocolate, dark toffee, breadiness and some abv. Medium / thick body with some crispness on the finish considering the style and some semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with roasted malt, light chocolate, sharpness and some vanilla. The finish has some alcoholic soy taste. A decent impy stout.

This Imperial Stout pours a deep black color from a 22oz bottle. Medium to small sized white foamy head. Aroma is chocolate and coffee. A medium bodied Imperial Stout. The malts are chocolate and coffee. The hops are earthy and floral. It has all those other flavors in here as well. some leather, smoke, some vanilla, and perhaps some soy. Nicely balanced Imperial Stout. Mouthfeel is soft and round, very nice. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Bottle from Capones, sampled with Stegosaurus. Black pour with thin tan head. Aromas of roasted malt and dark fruit. The flavor was a cream, chocolate, coffee roast all blended extremely well with a mild bitter finish. The cerimonial humping opf the bottle was done. This was fantastic. Merry Christmas Stegosaurus !!!

Bottle shared with jerc & mabel - their bottle. Inky black body with a small mocha head. Aroma of dark roasted malt, coffee, smoke and hops. Medium body. Flavour is quite good, following the aroma pretty much exactly - roasted malt, coffee, smoke and hops. A very drinkable impy.
