Kevin (1917), Colorado, USA Dec 24, 2007 bottle from mj. thanks mike. and fuck you rtd for leaving me stranded 3 miles from my house. that was a fun walk you piece of shit, fuck i hate the bus system here sometimes. o.k. so i was in a foul mood ready to rip something, full of anger, but no, doesn’t happen, i have to go into how damn good something is i have to have a fantastic beer that i really like, so i guess that is a good thing. this is a nice looking brew, pitch black with a thick light brown head. boozey chocolate nose with a nice fudge and vanilla underneath it. flavor is mainly chocolate there is a light cappucino note there too. an enjoyable near powdery like mouthfeel. the sweet malt flavors are well balanced with the alcohol dryness & bitterness of hops. the fruitiness is a bit strong , a good orange citrus is there too & i like the way it works into the light hints of smoke. this is a high alcohol porter, & i love porters.

Last beer of a long list of beers. Definitely would like to re-rate this beer. Black pour with a light tan head. Sweet rich dark malt smell and a touch of alcohol. A touch thin and and flavors of dark sweet roast flavor. Either not as good as I expected or my taste buds were shot at this point. Deserving of a re-rate. MikeF (528), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Dec 21, 2007 beautiful rich and large light tan head. roasted malt, slightly sweet aroma with a hint of coffe. smmoth flavor of roasted malt hops and slight smokiness. fiulijn (7150), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Dec 20, 2007 Very dark brown color. Mild aroma. Medium body; the taste is mild, more like a regular Stout and with too much sweet liquorice and paper flavor. tytoanderso (1382), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA Dec 19, 2007 22oz bottle. Nearly opaque black pour with a thick reddish black pour leaving excellent sticky lacking down the glass. Decent, but not overpowering aroma of very lightly smoked malt, vanilla, milk chocolate and the smallest hint of alcohol. Flavor, too, is pleasant but not in your face. Creamy and rich on the palate. With notes of roasted malt, vanilla, fresh coffee, lactose, Nesqwik, alcohol and a touch of hop bitterness. A well balanced imperial stout without going over the top. HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Dec 18, 2007 Bottle (22oz). Shared with blankboy, GregClow, jerc, mabel and tupalev, my bottle via trade with sirpsycho. thick black pour with a decent frothy-creamy mottled tan head. At first this one didn’t do much for me, but you know what? This is a damed fine beer - no gimmicks, just a good solid imperial stout. Aroma of chocolate malt, roast coffee beans, light minty herbal hops, alcohol, and some lactose. Taste followed, but a slight sour tang to it, well balanced between malt, alcohol and light finishing hop bitterness. Creamy, average mouthfeel and body, light carbonation, a whisper of acidity, and a medium-long creamy finish, not too sweet, not too bitter. Really, really good stuff. jerc (3861), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Dec 16, 2007 Bottle. Black, creamy tan head. Modest aroma grows as it warms, bit of fruit, mild hint of roast, cocoa hints. (7+) Sweet malt flavour, dusty cocoa, very light fruit and roast malt hints. Light acidity to the finish, chocolate glimpses. Smooth average to medium palate (3+). Very nice, drinkable imperial stout but surprisingly mild.
