Commercial Description:
Jolly Roger himself smoked the malt for this Imperial Stout. This is a massive stout with a huge roasted maltiness and complex smoky, chocolate flavors coming through strong thanks to the gentle handpump and correct cellar temperature.

Bottle shared with Jerc, Mabel, Hogtown Harry, and Blankboy, courtesy of Harry. Last beer of the night - great Christmas tasting guys! Black, small tan head. Nice aroma - very dry. Sweet as well. Greats taste, rich sweet dry malt, alcohol present and balanced. Complex yet drinkable. Very good.

Bottle thanks to Mike! Really good brew. Very thick pour with lots of dark fruits, chocolates, roastiness, and all sorts of other very nicely melded together flavors. Really comes together as it warms a little. The alcohol was not really present, and the mouthfeel and viscosity was right up there with the best of them. Thanks again!

A victory bottle for having bested Ryan at fantasy baseball this past summer...charcoal black body with a brown quarter-inch head in a snifter ...wonderful lacing as it drinks down...toasted malt with coffee and caramel notes...creamy and warm mouthfeel...a hint of alcohol (9.5%!?) and a lot of chocolate or syrup, in a good way...smooth and steady...the burn of alcohol leaves after three sips, replaced by a pleasant warmth...too smooth to be believed...I was pleased by their pilsner on draft (and the burger matched) but this indeed was a beer worth singular sipping...I’ll have to defeat Ryan more often...

Bomber from trade. Beautiful opaque black body with complementing medium-small dark brown head. Aroma is very sweet dark fruit, chocolate, medium in strength and sweet. Flavor is nice strong bitter chocolate, semi-bitter pine hops, very roasty, dark fruit, plum, some dough, only light, light alc finish excelent. Medium to full body, creamy. Big flavor based on malt chocolate. One of the better big and balanced impy stouts out there.

C-bus 10. Puddintanes bottle. Nice chocolate aroma. Big black body with a brown head. Full palate. Lots of chocolate and heavy malt flavors in this one. Really thick and syrupy.

C-Bus 10: Bottle shared by puddintane: Pours a dark brown to black with a loose tan head. Aroma, roasty, chocolate, coffee. Flavor, rich chocolate, some coffee, sweet, roasted malts. Finishes with an earthy roasted bitterness. Very nice.

Super dark brown, but not quite black with a medium tan head that dissipates into a thin coating on top. Thick aroma with lots of chocolate and some hops. Roasted malts up front with a nice chocolaty finish. Really nice mouthfeel with a huge body that perfectly fits this beer. Not hugely complex, but it really doesn’t need to be.
