Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, and licorice. Flavour of alcohol, bitter chocolate, raisins, plums and a hint of smokiness.. Has a bitter aftertaste. Pours thick, black, but not as thick as most RIS’s. Smoky aroma, which got more obvious as it warmed. Taste is of black licorice, darker fruit, hops, definitely sweet. A very nice surprise.
