Commercial Description:
Jolly Roger himself smoked the malt for this Imperial Stout. This is a massive stout with a huge roasted maltiness and complex smoky, chocolate flavors coming through strong thanks to the gentle handpump and correct cellar temperature.

Bottle thanks to travita. Pours with a dark brown head atop a completely black body. Aroma of alcohol, banana esters coupled to fusel alcohol, with chocolate and light smoke. Taste is chocolates and lots of alcohol for the ABV, needs some time to mellow out. A bit of Belgian yeast notes and candi sugar notes at the back end. Syrupy, light carbonation.

In short: A slightly chocolaty imperial stout with a little peaty and smoky touch. Very good, almost excellent.
How: Bottle 22oz. Consumed when 6+ months of age. Given to me in person by Kmweaver. Thanks a lot Ken.
The look: Black body topped by a small brown head
In long: Nose of heavy molasses and other “sweet dark stuff”. A bunch of flavour elements peacefully coexist with no single flavour element that standing out from the crowd. Bug body with plenty of dark malts with flavours of black chocolate, some peat, figs cookies, light smokiness, tobacco leaves, burnt bananas, some vanilla, some coconut. Medium roastiness. Very comfortable full pillowy body. Would gladly have it again. Named after a flag that once was the emblem of people always trying to appropriate the wealth of others. Has since been replaced by Stars and Stripes flag.

Bottle @ jbrus. Dark color. Aroma is malty, coffee, bit licorice. Quite bitter taste. Decent imperial stout, but probably is a bit weak after all that fantastic stuff we have been drinking during this session.

Bottled @ Jbrus’. The aroma has laurel, licorice, chocolate. Black coloured with a beige head. The taste is bitter, bit sweet, has chocolate, someroast, laurel and is carbonated.

Tasting session at jbrus. Bottled. Opaque black appearance, small brown head. Chocolate malty aroma. Very strong bitter flavour. Just another Imperial Stout.
