Commercial Description:
Jolly Roger himself smoked the malt for this Imperial Stout. This is a massive stout with a huge roasted maltiness and complex smoky, chocolate flavors coming through strong thanks to the gentle handpump and correct cellar temperature.

Bottle@Home. Good but pretty standard Imperial Stout. Mainly dominated by licorice, laurel and sweetness.

Tasting session at jbrus. Bottled. Opaque black appearance, small brown head. Chocolate malty aroma. Very strong bitter flavour. Just another Imperial Stout.

Bomber. Pours a nice deep almost black with a foamy lasting head. Aroma is very herbal, hoppy, green acetaldehyde, toasted malts, burnt acrid charred malts, and light roast. More green apple in the flavor, dry burnt malts, burnt toast, nutty, earth, herbal, lots of fresh hops, and actually not even all that smooth in the end. Im not sure if I have ever had a good bottle of this now that I think of it. BA version is so good, it is weird how the regular version is so much different.

Well, they didn’t have this winner when we visited State College last summer. No worries, Cpt. Couger was like Captain AMerican in gettingt me one between snowstorms, and sent it as..an extra. This smooth drinker was just what I needed this weekend. Pours black and thick, with good white head. The real think, one sip is a drinkable bitterness, the next a bit of coffee, great malting integrated.

Bottle pours black with tan head. Aroma is caramel roast with a touch of smoke. Heavy mouthfeel. Flavor is strong roast malt, coffee, chocolate, has a creaminess, and finishes with a strong bitterness. Nice brew overall.

Bottle Pours a deep black with a brown head. Has a nice roasted malty aroma, chocolate caramel, coffee, and smoke. Has a great mouthfeel and the perfect carbination that many beers in this style lack. A real good mouthfell. and great flavors. This is blended very well. The alcohol is not overbearing. Has a great texture and a wonder palete. A full bodied beer. This is just a great beer. Very well done. Another great reason to go to PSU.

Dark black pour with chestnut colored head and spotty lace. Heavy roasted aroma (almost smoke). Roast, chocolate, coffee, and smoke. Long bitter finish
