COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A classic American IPA with lots of floral punch and assertive hop presence. Hopped with Nugget, Palisade and Amarillo colored to a reddish hue thanks to Munich and Aromatic malts.

Bottle: Poured a sharp orange with a light off white head. Aroma is caramel malt and citrus hops. Flavor is chewy hops and of set by the malts. The bitterness remained in the finish and keeps the tongue eager for more.

Bottle from Brian shared with my tasting buddies. Coppery amber with a solid off white head. Big pine and citrus aroma over a toffee background. Medium body and carbonation, quite dry with a lingering bitterness. The hops come on quickly with lots of bitterness supported by a study caramel sweetness. A very nice IPA in the West Coast tradition.

On cask at Zeno’s. Pours dark amber with small beige head. The aroma is slight earthy hops, wood, caramel, and some fruity notes. The flavor is mostly woody with some caramel and fruit notes. There’s a strong nuttiness in the finish that I find a bit offputting. A little bit on the bland side, honestly. I think the cask did a disservice to the beer; I’ll make an attempt to rerate on regular draught.

Poured a caramel color, kinda dark for an IPA. But that’s where the problems ended. Nice lacy head, grea hoppy floral aroma. The flavor was lite, and the body full and nice. Great aftertaste and bittering. Good enough to make me want to be a Nittany Lion!!! Shared bottle with Uncle Steve, Brian, Tom and the Southern Beer Guru, Drbayern!

Hand bottled. Very cat-pissy aroma, almost overwhelmingly so. I guess some muddy, used coffee-filter hops were present, but eww in general. Very piney, dank hops in the mouth, extremely bitter, very unpleasant to drink.

From growler. Terrific nose on this one. Fruity big hop nose, with apricot nectar, pine resin, and grapefruit pulp. Mild nutty sweetness in the malt. Very fragrant, hoppy and sweet. Dark coppery brown clear, with thin foamy off-white lacing head. Pretty dark for an IPA. Medium watery body, with medium carbonation. Easy drinking. Starts with rich caramel-biscuit malt sweetness that is quite mild. For all the wonderful hop aromas, this IPA is not that bitter or hoppy in taste. Nice apricot-grapefruit hop taste, with just a mild astringent bitter finish. The hops are more tasty than bitter. The after is lightly dry, with a nutty bitter character and mild sweetness. Very nice IPA - like the milder, sweeter version of Double D.

Hand-Bottle from Miver. Thanks Joe. Pours a deep red amber with a small sudsy white lace. Nose has a lot of perfume and floral notes with some tropical and citrus fruits going on. Flavor has a nice complex hop flavor--more citrus juiciness, earthy, a bit of lemongrass. Tasty, wish I could have it fresh but the handbottle. held up pretty darn well. Thanks again Joe(Exclamation point)

Tap at Ottos. I had thought this was going to be stronger than 5%? Pours a nice medium copper with a nice lasting tight white head and good lace. Aroma is fruity, light tropical notes, lots fo citrus- grapefruit, some lemon and good pine needle character. Flavor has a good light malt backbone, with a strong resinous, pine and citrus hop, and a really good raw hop bitterness- ends a bit tacky and harsh from the hops which was nice. Good clean long finish- very easy drinking. I still think it must be higher than 5%.

Hand Bottle (That puzzl had left at the Blind Tiger. Thanks Andy!) Amber pour with a dense off white head. Odd aroma giving off resiny and fruity hop qualities- oily resins, tropical notes of mango and a squash-like hint, with a uric acid note in there. Funky. The body is creamy with mild carbonation (could be because it was hand bottled) Either way, the flavor gives off some tropical fruit hop flavors of peach, which is accompanied by an odd uric acidity (pissy, as Maxxdaddy described it) Citrusy notes come out as well with an oily piny finish. Although the alpha acids seemed a bit pissy and earthy, I rather enjoyed this IPA.

Growler. Pours a deep amber color with a foamy off-white head that lasts throughout. Leaves incredible lacing on the glass. Aroma is citrus and pine. Taste is grapefruit bitterness balanced by a light toffee-like sweetness. The bitterness carries through to a long finish that begs for another sip. This is one tasty IPA.
