330 ml bottle. Pours a light copper color with full head that settles quickly. Light aromas of grain, corn, and biscuity malts. Flavors of corn sugar and toasted malts. Very similar flavor to some non alcoholic grocery store beers. 16

Bottle to pint glass Yeast, bread, a little sourness, currant, and molasses. Very pale amber, with a 1/2 cm creamy head with huge retention. This glass has been sitting for a 1/2 hour and the head is still there. Taste is hay, straw, yeast, malts, late bitterness. A little watery and chalky.

330ml brown bottle, Craft Beer Advent Calendar 2014, day 16. Clear pour, gold, head is white and fluffy, decent retention, patchy lacework. Aromas are bready, yeasty and grainy. Taste is bready/hay/pils like malt and dry with a light lemon note. Finishes clean. High carbonation and a medium body. Good, but not something that would interest me in drinking again.

Smells primarily like a rice beer, metallic, a bit of malty skunk. Pleasant golden appearance. Medium head which fades quickly. Taste is very light, wheat, heavy carbonation. Very much like a rice beer/lager. Palatable though not special.

Golden pour, with an aroma of yeast and hops. Bitter taste of yeasts, hops, and some malts. Not my favourite Belgian beer, but it wasn't the worst.

2014 Advent Calendar #15, 330ml, no bottle date or best before. Pours clear medium gold with one finger of white head diminishing gradually to a thin skim, moderate lacing. (4/5) Nose is pale malt, honey, leafy and herbal hops, mild yeast. (6/10) Taste is moderately sweet, moderate bitter. (6/10) Medium body, prickly carbonation, moderate bitter finish. (4/5) Unlike some of the previous beers, this one really did excite an unironic "Oh, goody!Ē out of me. And itís not bad, not bad at all. Itís nothing like other Oud Beersel products Iíve had, and for that matter, fairly unlike most BPAís Iíve had. If I were served this as a pilsner, Iíd call it a great pilsner, but as a BPA, itís a bit lacking in character. I wonít go so far as to call it bland, but Iíve certainly had better examples of the style. However that being said, I donít think Iíve ever had such a low gravity BPA before, so that might not be a fair comparison. Ultimately a pleasant, easy-drinking fairly light beer with decent body and character given the gravity. (12/20)
