Nice golden color with a large and long lasting head. Aroma is weak and resembles pils, although there is a clear hint of hops in it. Taste is surprisingly strong for a beer with so little alcohol, but not very special. The aftertaste fades swiftly. Body is light, carbonation average. Not bad given its alcohol level, but not very good either.

Staat op fles ’low alcohol triple’ maar doet meer aan een pilsener denken dan een triple qua smaak en alcohol percentage, maar dan wel een lekkere! Licht bloemige geur. Rijke schuimkraag al trekt die week vrij rap weg.

FlacoAlto (3800) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - AUG 8, 2014
A steady pour into my teku glass produces a three finger thick, pale, off-white head that leaves some light lacing on the sides of my glass. The beer is a red-tinged, amber color that shows a brilliantly clear, bright golden hue when held up to the light. The aroma smells of apples, some biscuit like malt notes, a touch of caramelized hay, and of fruity berries and / or red table-grapes. The fruit character is dominant in the nose (a bit too much so perhaps) and is lightly supported by an earthy malt character.

Quite effervescent, the beer is fairly light bodied, but does have a touch of viscosity to it that keeps this from being watery. The beer is fairly dry, which help to mute the fruit character just a bit; still this has ample notes of cider, lightly tart pears, and perhaps even some floral plum notes. The finish has a dryness to it that accentuates a bitter hop bite, a touch of spicy alcohol, and some peppery fermentation character.

The fruity fermentation notes are a bit too dominant to allow this beer to achieve balance, but having said that it is not half bad. Perhaps a touch too clean, as it could use a bit more malt character to boost the complexity.

Veel te bitter naar mijn smaak. Als je eerst hun tripel hebt geproefd is dit een serieuze tegenvaller

Clear amber body. Fizzy white head. Lightly sweet, lightly bitter flavour. Ok, not great.

Douberd (2168) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - JUN 21, 2014
Bottle 330 ml, neck wrapped in silver foil, advertized as a low alcohol triple on the label. Into a tulip.ABV 4.5% Clear body, with an intense golden orange colour, big white head, a bit thin but with good retention, leaving light lacing on the glass. Aroma of clean malts, belgian yeast, sugar, hay. Taste is also malty, some bread, yeast, light fruity and metal notes. Mild bitterness on the aftertaste. Medium thin body, good carbonation, nicely dry on the palate. Considering that is a relatively low alcohol beer, for a belgian ale or tripel at least, this was decent.

mcberko (6260) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 11, 2014
330mL bottle at Delirium Cafe, pours a cloudy golden with a medium white head. Aroma is very grainy, with lots of crackery notes and a little Belgian yeast. Flavour is pretty bland, with lots of sparkling water upfront, followed by cereal / crackery notes and finally Belgian yeast. Finishes with lots of sparkling water. Bland, but well-balanced and drinkable. Okay.

Malziger Geruch gefolgt von einem relativ bitteren und wässrigen Geschmack mit starkem Anklang von Brot. Nichts besonderes.
