Bottle. Pours in light hazy golden pale with low white head. Aroma is funky at first, light honey in the background, earthy, floral. Taste has medium brett sweetness, medium earthy bitterness, nice well balanced after taste. Body is full, medium carbonation.

Bottle from Beer Cartel 120416. A very low alcohol kick for such a high alcohol beer, you wouldn’t know it was 9.5% when you are drinking it. The Kylie Minogue of tripels - a little thin in the body but looks the goods.

Tap at Erzbierschof Zurich. Oh wow, this tripel really isn’t much. Low aroma, some candy sweetness on the far back of the tongue. Borderline watery. The basics are there, but really not much more.

Big head and carbonation in this one. Fruity and yeasty, with a bit of sharpness to it, and a little more musty/dusty than I care for. One timer.

Bottle from Boise Co-op. Nice pour, with huge fluffy head, cloudy golden body. Earthy, musty aroma, bready, medium weight. Taste is more of the same aroma characteristics, mild spicy bite. Not one of the best Belgian tripels, but body is right on, a flaw I’ve found with a lot of American tripels.

nearbeer (4614) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JAN 14, 2016
330 ml. Mostly clear amber with a sticky cobweb of foam on top. Nose is earthy honey with the beeswax, menthol, lemongrass and toasted maize. Tastes of mild tea with lemon and a touch of honey, booze, and toasted maize. Light medium body has low-medium carbonation and a nice balance. Seems like a Lithuanian style Tripel.
