4oz bottle pour in a mini snifter at Churchkey’s Oud Beersel event. Dark ruby with bare ecru head. Aroma is very mild cherry tartness, somewhat vinous. Taste is more tart, with a sharp hit of cherry then quickly mellowing to grains and vinous notes. Moderate palate, some zest. Very good, and not a traditional kriek.

From a bottle at Churchkey. Pours a clear mahogany with a pinkish head. Aroma of toasted oak. Flavors of tart cherry and nuts. Effervescent mouthfeel. Refreshing finish.

Bottle at home. Cork hit the ceilings it’s a massive bang! Deep ruby red with huge fizzy pink head that last for a while. Lots of sour cherries, mineral, some funk and hay, light dusty champagne, some chalk, sweet red fruits. Under medium sour, bit lighter sweetness with soft bitter finish. Medium bodied with quite some carbonation but it feels quite soft.

750ml bottle - shared by Helen - thanks!
Divine cherry aroma, full fruit cherries, still fleshy, black cherry, but no cherry-skin sharpness. Deep red, fizzy pinkish head. Lovely sharp palate, but unfortunately it’s very highly carbonated, and the carbonic acid leaches into the taste too. Lambic is low, cherry’s quite low, but the balance is good. Swirling the carbonic acid out lets the cherry return for a delicious finish, now getting everything from the cherry skin to the stones. Yeah, swirl that fizz out, it adds nothing, and actively subtracts. Undeniably very good, but I still think the Schaerbeekse and Lou Pepe dominate this.

Poured from a bottle. Aroma is fruit forward with a lot of juicy cherry notes. Light oak notes. Light herbal funk with some cherry skins and a bit of a leafy character. Pours a dark, sightly hazy, cherry red with a very large, pillowy, pink head that continues to grow when you are finished pouring. Head lingers for quite some time before disappearing. No lacing or legs. Flavor is fairly sweet with quite a bit of juicy, tart cherry notes. Light oak notes with some medium light tannins. Some cherry skins with tannins and a bit of a leafy note. Light herbal funkiness with a touch of barnyard characteristics. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a pretty nice kriek. A decent sweetness with a good cherry character. Light funk and oak notes.

@ Basunen 16-5-21: Riktig trevlig stor doft av mogna körsbär. Smaken är lite lättare, tydlig frukt men kanske lite tunn eftersmak och saknar lite syra men ändå mycket gott.
